Lmao the adhd tip at the beginning " watch this on 2x speed" no thanks im already doing 2 other things while watching this. Im scrolling through Pinterest looking for photos for my vision board and im thinking in depth about why each photo i pick has to be the exact right photo to represent what i feel like it should 😂😂😂😂😂

I feel called out about the wake-up doom scroll bit. 😂 I'm also AuDHD and for some reason thought I should take a job with 8-5 hours. I'm a bat by nature. Night is quiet and less bright. I just think better - but I want to be at home doing my special interests when I have the focus. It's a conundrum. Until fairly recently, I was merely existing. I wasn't really putting much thought into routines other than making sure I'm up early enough and executing my steps to gtfo out the door in time for work. I am rarely on time for work when I have to work in the AM. Unless I could work from home again. I'm still learning life skills (again) after my autism diagnosis, so tis all little bumps along the journey I guess.

The dopamine from watching this video got me to wash my face and brush my teeth for the first time in a month. just reorganized my habit tracker app so that I can remember to do the minimum for my routine and it got me up and dressed. lets wee how it goes!

For my extremely low energy days, I have a bare bones routine. Basically, daily functions, stay in pajamas, eat and nothing else unless it's urgent (very helpful for CFS).

This is really helpful for people with chronic illnesses (aka me). I kind of have my own version of this already, but this was still helpful.

The biggest thing that helped me develop a routine was making a checklist I can print out. I would print out 2 weeks worth at a time and keep the pages in a diskbound journal. Without a checklist I feel no accountability and I forget important things like taking my medication. Lately I haven't had access to a printer, so I have been writing it out everyday. Tedious, but still works.

If someone wanted to though, they could totally print out sheets for their 3 different types of routines and reprint them as needed.

Great video Hayley - Do you know about "floors and ceilings"? It's a very similar concept in Stephen Guise's book, "How to be an Imperfectionist". Great minds think alike ☺

I feel called out by the intro as I have started "casually" viewing ADHD content w/o any actual diagnosis bc I can't really afford psych care but I'm still finding these advices helpful. I watch absolutely everything at 2x speed and genuinely find it still slow at times.

Thank you so much for explaining that a routine doesn't have to be the ideal routine all the time. I'm a 39 yo mom of two girls and I was diagnosed at 37 with ADHD. I have been trying so hard for so long with trying to create a routine for myself and my daughter's. I felt like it had to be the (Ideal) routine all the time. 🤦‍♀️I kind of feel silly that I didn't think of doing it this way sooner 😂.

I love this, and I have found that as a woman I can predict my high and low energy levels based on my cycle. We are far more energy days before and during ovulation, and really low energy after that leading up to and during our menstruation. Paying attention to this can make it far easier to plan ahead for projects or anything really. Hope that helps!

The 1.25x speed is a game changer THANKYOU VERY MUCH - you can do it on TT by pressing and holding just above the profile picture.

This routine structure is great. In Mental health we call the minimal routine the non negotiables but they're spread out through the whole day.

I think my minimum routine will be making the bed, having breakfast and opening the curtains. Even if I just get back into bed after breakfast. It's a win.

THANK YOU!
I have struggled for YEARS (earliest memories from being a teenager) to stick with a routine / wanting a routine / feeling that other people do best at being human beings and are doing it better than I do, etc.
I have seen many psychologists in the past giving the « create a routine » advice which I simply can’t follow in the long run
It will work a week, or two tops!
I have been diagnosed with ADHD a few months ago and am slowly learning to see what it entails. I feel having the kind of routine you propose is so liberating - it’s not one way or you’re a bad person -
You can adapt it to your mood, it’s perfect 😊 it’s like you’re giving extra care to yourself by allowing different level of energy with this 3-level routines

this is awesome, i do not have ADHD still i can related with this different energy on different days. in fact, my routine would always get compromised in case i wake up late. but yeah, having different routines for different days makes so much sense! i had this idea once but never thought over it. thank you for clarifying and putting it to life!

Yes, I love this! The Ideal day sounds like what I am always referring to as "in a perfect world", which means my own world. I love that there are three different levels of a day to correspond with energy levels, because I have had to adjust my day based on how I feel so many times. Thank you for sharing this. It is so helpful! I have had various coaches give me one on ones, and whenever they suggest a morning and evening routine based on my goals I am excited for a hot minute, and then overwhelmed. Before I realized I have ADHD it would frustrate me, and I would feel like I was just being lazy.

I've never felt so seen 😭 It does seem so simple when it's explained out loud. The strangest thing is I've been operating like this already but chaotically and with shame. Can't wait to sit down and put some structure to my fluctuating levels. You are such a godsend and seem like such a sweetheart. Thank you so much for this. 💕
