ОтветитьYou cant teach people this is how you fucking back our music man. This is literally the first ever time iv ever responded to any one of these vids! You have nothing educational here, Learning how to accompany Irish Music is an art form for a few privileged guitar players. Without sounding like a total freak honestly im just a bit pissed off at the easy ness to it all its very hard and its recommended you know the melody before you attempt the chords. I know cause I did it wrong myself for a long time!
ОтветитьAs an Irish man who plays trad, I was waiting to see what his first chord would be to see how familiar he is with the music, I expected a A minor
ОтветитьWhen my family moved from Scotland to Ireland in the 1600's they changed their name from Moore to O'Moore, cfant get more Irish than that! :D
ОтветитьThis is simply brilliant, thanks for the upload
ОтветитьI think your diagram for the G chord is showing fingers on the wrong frets. should start on forth fret not third if im not mistaken. But a great introduction to open tuning . learned a lot ,thanks.
ОтветитьI,ve studied celtic guitar at Trinity College. I' italian, but i live in Donegal, Ireland. Slàn buachaill.
ОтветитьI keep trying to escape my Irishness in my songwriting but it keeps showing up..., most recently in my song: “David O’Malley”, an Irish waltz about a little stray orange cat I adopted.
ОтветитьNot sure what any of that has to do with alcohol but ok..
ОтветитьIf you want to channel the depths of your Irish heritage, play the fiddle. Guitar isn't a traditional Irish music instrument. It's a 20th century invasion from the 60s folk scene that never should have happened. And there's a lot more to it than just playing in 6/8. Sorry to seem grumpy about it, but...
Ответитьthank you love love love Irish music and the country. we went a few years ago and fell in love with Ireland and the people are so friendly and would come up to us just to gab.
ОтветитьHey I'm Irish and have a small gig tonight you just saved me 😂🍀🎸
ОтветитьHmm, I am interested in Irish guitar, and there is alcohol involved....
ОтветитьCan you play Three sheets to the wind? Looks like you got it down.
ОтветитьThanks a lot! Sunday morning and finding a good guy for my guitar lesson:))
Ответитьa jig is exactly the same as a very fast waltz...exactly!...dont kid yourself
Ответитьyou got great intros man
ОтветитьEww, open B string in the G major chord
Ответитьsixx-eeh
ОтветитьI see a lot of players trying to use DUDDUD. At most 1% actually succeed, and even then, it's ugly, awkward and counter intuitive. As Han Speek so rightly pointed out many years ago, it's a waste of time/energy and destroys the rhythm.
Rhythm guitar playing is like drumming. There is a natural order and rhythm to base technique which subsequently allows you to build out in any direction you like. Using DUDDUD, you throw a spanner in the works which robs subsequent rhythm patterns of their flow, swing and grace.
Sure, many use DUDDUD. I've yet to meet anyone who can explain and demonstrate why.
thanks man
Ответить"channel the depths of your irish heritage" erm... i'm from Derry lmao
ОтветитьTypical American trying to teach Irish music, getting everything arse-ways
ОтветитьSean you just must . Get yourself a good Cedar Creek dulcimer And to get to know it and play it on here They're really quite lovely
ОтветитьI'm from Ireland and I love Ireland
ОтветитьAwesome video. Informative.
ОтветитьExcellent Sean! Especially your making sense of dadgad by breaking down those chords. I have seen the light!
Thanks amigo! Stay safe, be well!
Dave in the Adirondacks
Could u demo more so show first the whole thing then break down ? I’m asking as id like to see more videos from you . That way I get what you’re talking about right away
Ответитьbevvied up. Good man.
ОтветитьI'm from Dublin and this is so good
ОтветитьIm litterally drink as in trying to play Irish on my standard acoustic... Is this beneficial or negative?
ОтветитьI never understood why sequencers like the Roland TB-303 have the 'accent' button. Now I get where that comes from
ОтветитьHow to do
ОтветитьAlcohol is definitely involved but it is Jack Daniels Tennessee Honey😂😂
ОтветитьSounds somewhat Spanish at the end! I'm an Irish blooded USAer living in Nicaragua and have read that a lot of Spanish music, especially from Mexico has strong Irish influence from Irish immigration there hundreds of years ago! Listen to Chris De Burgh and compare to Marco Antonio Solís for example. Great stuff!!!
ОтветитьWhere did you get this jacket?? It is so nice
ОтветитьThat video was great but do you really have to talk at 100 mph?
ОтветитьFantastic!!!
Ответитьis holding an acoustic and drinking ok stop watching me thru my window please kind man
ОтветитьWhat soccer team do you support is it celtic
Ответитьas mentioned 6/8 is a doubled waltz
ОтветитьWhat kind of acoustic guitar is usually used for Irish music?
Ответитьyou're about as irish as a can of coors lite
