Balance and long term planning for the employees can affect a company's growth. Many people 'today' want to be 'the boss' - knowledge and skill of companies production, product, market is a second thought. If too many people who can 'talk the talk' rather than walk the walk are employed, those that are happy to 'walk the walk' get overloaded carrying the climbers to the detriment of the growth or long term success of a company. Consider the 'pace man' in a 1500m foot race or cycling - who is paid to keep a high pace to keep the times low but isn't expected to finish top 5. How many people run their businesses and lives this way? Is the 'pace man' looked after in the business or washed out?
