I am 70 years old and love to shoot. I am a wing shooter so I enjoy clay shooting. I own 6 pistols but just don't feel confident going to the range to shoot. I think that your class is just wat I am looking for, someone to help me build more confidence in pistol shooting.
ОтветитьIn the bit about dry firing, Sina should have added that each gun shop will have its own policies and procedures regarding dry fire so you should definitely ask first if you're new to the shop you're in.
ОтветитьI'm 74 and have been hunting 62 years starting with Gpa , Dad, and my friends fathers when young. They pounded gun safety all the time until it became ingrained into our young brains. The Grandfathers and Fathers have passed on ,but I still hunt with my friends. Although gun safely is still burned in to us we always have a little reminder shout out about safely starting before every season and If you're new hunting with our group we have a conversation before hunting, and If you screw up thats the last time you hunt with us.
ОтветитьA long, long time ago, the "local" gun shop had a basement range that used the armored side of a decommissioned battleship as a backstop, angled so the lead dropped into a sand trap.
ОтветитьI totally understand the rules and I agree with them but how many of a gunstores have a discharging device? The tube somewhere next to the wall that is safe to point the gun at and then after discharging the gun press the trigger with unloaded gun to be extra sure, u know what I mean or is it not common in the USA? It would be easier. Hey I have a gun I need you to check but it's loaded in a holster. Can I use a discharging device or is there a safe corner other than just a floor? easy and safe.
And yeah. If you don't know what's behind the wall just ask if you can point the gun to that wall. It could be a plasterboard which can penetrate even a slingshot :D
Only point towards the ground if there is a second floor, otherwise always up. Bullets ricochet off the floor and still kill.
ОтветитьShout out to Holliston, MA from the Deep South!! I grew up right down the road in Bellingham!
ОтветитьStumbled upon your channel I’m new to firearm ownership and just getting my feet wet when it comes to knowledge I know I have a lot more learning a head of me. Also liked that you are a female teaching other females and making it a little less “scary” for use newbies
ОтветитьI avoid gun stores altogether. maybe I've had bad experiences in bad shops but most folk I've encountered are rude, know it all types disinterested in helping us the normal folk.
I'd rather do my own research and buy used from a private party or gun show than step into a store. Also, to those of you ex-military that work at shops, drop the "we know more than civilians" attitude. It's a turn off.
The only reason I ever venture into a shop is to feel the grip on a gun for size then walk out.
🌎🌄🌍 more Americans have been killed BY Americans in AMERICA than ALL the Americans killed in ALL the foreign wars combined that Americans have fought in,mainly thanks to the second amendment ...
ОтветитьGreat job!
ОтветитьI wish all gun shop follow these rules. I worked in gun shop / range and an new employee & customer laid an loaded gun towards me.
I asked 2x if the firearm is unloaded. They responded yes the magazine is out.
I had the gut feeling and checked the firearm and discovered it had an round in the chamber.

So you’re saying I can’t come in and repeatedly dry fire a 4K Wilson Combat 1911? Can’t shop at your store then 😂
ОтветитьAlso know that most gun salesmen or woman behind the glass are not experts.
ОтветитьI love your page. I got my Mom and sister to watch you as I feel it’s also more reassuring to see a woman explaining all these things as my mom and sis tend to think of guns and shooting as being “manly,” when it is for both genders! Keep doing what you are doing!
ОтветитьAm deaf retired male guy looking for first concealed small gun for protection against today's fanatics popping up.and good training for accuracy safety understanding guns and target shooting contest that target all moves suddenly shall be created someday as best interests in shooting .shooting targets that is still is unacceptable accuracy mouth fast different moving targets and contests CAN BE CHALLENGING best gun shooters needed .Why not ??
ОтветитьExcellent presentation!
ОтветитьThat guy looked so giddy at the start, probably excited he gets to bring up gun safety after *actually * being asked, instead of flagged 😆
ОтветитьI thought I recognised the store 😅
New to firearms and had my first 1-to-1 introduction to Firearms here. Although I have very limited experience, this place seemed extremely professional and knowledgeable, as well as welcoming.
Became a member and look forward to spending a lot more time here.
Now all we need is for the employees to learn some etiquette. I've been to gun stores in the past where the employees treat customers like crap.
ОтветитьThis was a great video and something I needed to know prior to going into my local firearms dealer. I am new to firearms ownership, and want to make sure that when purchasing a home defense pistol I am following the safe and proper protocols when in store. One major concern I had was wanting to test trigger pull, dry fire. So I am extremely grateful you put that into this. Lastly, a great topic that I didnt even think about would be how to manage purchasing a holster with my current fire arm. These were valuable tips and I thank you for that. Well off to my dealer. Thank you again.... D
ОтветитьWhy is your expectation that something bad is about to happen?
ОтветитьI always enjoyed female teachers more than men. Females tend to just be better at teaching, more caring and easier to understand. A female teaching gun related material? You got my sub. Very informative material!
ОтветитьVery well done. Not all people know how to handle firearms especially in public. Simple and to the point.
ОтветитьWhat about the guns on the walls? Are you allowed to take them down to look at them??
ОтветитьLove that place! Top notch!
ОтветитьThis was a very smart video to make. I never even contemplated gun store etiquette before. Other than normal safe handling. Good advice! Good video👍
ОтветитьAbsolutely. Treat EVERY gun as if it's loader, and NEVER point it at anyone you don't intend to shoot.
ОтветитьI've never thought about what to do and what not to do at the gun store. I thank you for this very informative video to help us new guys. Safety first! Thanks!
ОтветитьHi there! Congrats on your 100th video! I would love to win the entrance to the Armed and Confident Academy. I am attending a basic safety course and likely purchasing my first firearm tomorrow. I am looking forward to learning all I can and becoming a safe and knowledgeable gun owner, so attending your academy would really help to build my confidence. I like your videos - I am female so your perspective is very helpful. Take care and happy shooting!
ОтветитьGreat video😊
ОтветитьGood info, thanks for sharing
ОтветитьThis video is very helpful. Tomorrow I gonna buy a gun, I'm a little bit worried. Thank you for the video teaching me so much.☺️
Ответитьvery good points, great video!
ОтветитьYou can never have enough knowledge !!!
ОтветитьWhen i purchased my first gun i didn't know what i was doing all i knew was keep your finger off the trigger and point it down. At first i was holding it like a bat 😂. The old timer showed me the Basics of unloading the mag and checking the chamber. Got a sweet deal on a used glock 19.
ОтветитьThis is dumb fr
ОтветитьHot!!!
ОтветитьTaking notes ✍️ Title: SAFETY 🦺 FIRST 🥇..... USE COMMON SENSE ...... To protect yourself & others around U .... Thank you ! For this gun 🔫 Store 🏪 video :) PEACE ✌️
ОтветитьI am brand new to all of this & this was great! I needed to know this exact information. Trying to absorb as much safety knowledge as possible.
Ответитьcame here to learn about dry firing in the store, thanks for the clear info!
ОтветитьGreat information from both of you. Thanks for sharing. My father was in the gun business about 50 years. I still go to gun stores with him, just like when I was a kid. Someone we know pointed a gun at him in his house. The guy is a veteran which shocked my Dad. Gun safely is not sometimes it is all the time, no matter where you. My Dad who is in his mid-80s, will never forget that breach of safety, and that man will never be invited to the range. Safety training is just as important as training to shoot.
ОтветитьI think I am in love with you
ОтветитьThanks :)
ОтветитьYour hair looks like seaweed.
ОтветитьOn the flip side, I was in a ghetto-ass pawn shop and one of the employees kept picking up all the guns from the case and pointing them across the store to dry fire them
ОтветитьIF YOU DONT KNOW NOW YA KNOW!😂😂😂 Couldn't help myself
Ответить
