great video! It is interesting to see that now all the main distribution are on the same level. It might suggest the hardware has catch up with the software and there might be room for further improvement once the code are tuned on the new pi5. What do you think?

fps doesnt make all. one may choose to render less nice for a better fps or the contrary, or some options for more game compatibility.

There’s a few holes and discrepancy in your review.
1. Using a capture card affects fps.
2. Aethersfx isn’t a core it’s a stand alone emulator
3 based on game play of fzero over uses dolphin or ir dolphin but your video looked like the new dolphin emulator they added and not the core.
4. I would take this test with a grain of salt considering every base can be adjusted and modified. Even if you compared batocera 39 to 41 there would be differences in the 2 just like every retropie base isn’t the same. And this yielding different performing results.
5. How can you compare retropie if you stated they haven’t released an official base yet? The other os are official releases. If you’re using someone else’s base then how can you test on the same level as official bases? That seems flawed and a bad product showcase of the brand

Could you test games that were released for more than one console? For example, Resident Evil 4 on the PS2 emulator and on the GameCube emulator? So we can see the possible alternatives, like ‘Ahh, this game works better on the GameCube emulator’ or vice versa.

Ive used all 4 and can say Batcoera is overall best. for years ive enjoyed the great balance of performance, customization, and ease of use. I have 2 computers, one with Windows and other with Batocera for gaming in the den.
