You should try watching stuff from Canada: A People's History
If you're at all interested and usually the partner contesting it the most tents to be the United States and Russia for the Northwest passage
Random Inukshuks are everywhere accross Canada.
ОтветитьHey Tyler. Liking your post. Re not having a “giant railway that goes all around the country”, the folks at Amtrak, are going to be disappointed in you. It’s a giant passenger railway, that literally goes all around your country. As a Canadian, I know this, but to be fair, my father was a railway enthusiast, and I have met some Amtrak engineers professionally. Might be worth a future piece for you…
Ответитьthey are everywhere and in every size, It means "we were here"
ОтветитьSadly all these historic pictures have now been removed. Replaced by some generic animals etc etc. They said its to make it more welcoming to new immigrants. Honesty its just whitewashing our colonial history.
ОтветитьOops, I was thinking Abraham Lincoln. All good, Tyler.
Ответитьyou should watch the history on the whiskey wars this kind of explains a little bit about who is thinking on trying to take over the most part of canada
ОтветитьToo bad the current government is trying to change the passport:(
ОтветитьThe prairies also are the leading producers of Potash mined 3300’ underground which is fertilizer that’s shipped all over the world
ОтветитьYou have Amtrak for a national passenger train service in the US. 😊
ОтветитьJJ has the single most "Canadian" accent.
ОтветитьEEEEK omg, just wait till you get toi learning about aboriginal history in Canada. There is a lot, so much influence, but there is a very dark side to it as well. Be prepared for that if you start looking into it.
Ответить*Triggered
It's Ark-e-pelago not ch as in chew!
It is a beautiful passport full of historical and cultural imagery. But you can't fully appreciate the images until you view the pages under UV light.
ОтветитьI love how respectful you are. I would like to see you deep dive into other places. What a wonderful way to learn about other countries.
ОтветитьIn the Canadian video, the word archipelago was mentioned and mispronounced several times. The ch in archipelago is pronounced k, not ch: ar-ki-pe-la-go.
ОтветитьThe inukshuk is man size usualy
ОтветитьNOT a fan of J.J. His use of "so-called" Métis is insulting.
ОтветитьThe totally out-dated term Eskimo is predominantly seen as offensive. Eskimo was the name used by the Europeans in the 16 century into the early 19 century that was used to refer to all northern arctic circle, north pole indigenous people and categorised them all as one. They were the indigenous people inhabiting northern Canada, Alaska, Greenland, Aleutian islands and eastern Siberia, Russia . Some are of the same names as in Canada as in USA as these people did indeed reside freely and widely across the continent of NORTH AMERICA until the Europeans drew the line on that (the border) when Britain, France, Spain, and the Netherlands (dutch ) came along.
ОтветитьThe Northwest Territories were divided into NWT (pop. 45,000) and Nunavut (pop. 39,000) in 1999, to reflect ethnic reality. The Dene people were the majority in the western part of the territory, and Inuit were the majority in the eastern part. Two very different cultures and languages. Nunavut in the Inuktatut language means "our land."
ОтветитьLol America is so much better with cross country travel in any way car on highway, plane bus or train there’s lots of parts of Canada that have no roads or nothing u just have to fly or boat in
ОтветитьAnd there is two cross country railroads, one along the border and one father north through my city Edmonton. The Canadian nation and Canadian pacific
ОтветитьHow does someone not know that the prairies are the the richest in oil well one of and natural gas and beef and crops
ОтветитьHey Tyler that Kid expert?
ОтветитьFirst President of the United States is Gorge Washington.
ОтветитьRussia is the country Canada is most concerned about as far as the north is concerned . If you look down on a globe grom the top or look at a Polar map, you'ii see why.
Ответить"I didn't know." ad nauseam? Did Tyler know anything about Canada before "America Reacts"?
ОтветитьCanadian here, and I swear I almost said, "Ben Franklin." not George Washington. 👍I had to think for a minute. Are they sure Sir John A. MacDonald isn't a bridge in Dartmouth NS.🤣
ОтветитьMy ancestor was one of the early French settlers to come to New France and he married a native woman
ОтветитьTyler, you can buy a ticket in Halifax and ride trains all the way to Vancouver. It will take 5 days but it's a spectacular trip.
ОтветитьYes it happened and still is working. Took it last summer from Ontario to BC
ОтветитьTyler, you might like Gordon Lightfoot's Canadian Railroad Trilogy. Amazing piece.
ОтветитьRecently Canada settled a ''war'' with Denmark over an ''island'' in the Arctic, a big bare rock actually, and the decision came down to 60% to Denmark and 40% Canadian. So we now have land border with Denmark.
ОтветитьContest northern Canada? Russia of course, and they're doing it.
ОтветитьLe Gasp!
He's from Vancouver. That's where the 'aboot' comes from!
I have been wondering for over two decades where people actually pronounce about like that. It's not central Canada, it's not the French, it's not the maritimes or the newfies, no. It's hiding all the way on the west coast.
Sorry, just venting about my personal frustration with a canadian stereotype that I had never seen evidence of.
JJ didn't seem to know the passport has just changed and the pictures are gone. The spike guy is named Donald Smith(company director of the railroad company) to complete the Canadian Pacific Railway on 7 November 1885. Russia is trying to claim the north part of the world. Lots of natural ressources to expoit there.
ОтветитьUnfortunately every Canadian knows who the first president of the United States is. 😅😅
Lots of love from your neighbors. 🇨🇦
The USA contests Canadian sovereignty in the North.
ОтветитьI’m sorry Tyler…but I now skip any of your videos that feature this guy…as he only gives his very narrow minded West Coast view of Canada. And he omits it glazes over important things.
I think you’re more Canadian than him at this point.
Ice age.
ОтветитьWrong, Mowhawk American.
ОтветитьLast of Mohicans Killed, not Mohigans. Just them, And fought most brave, met one, true.
ОтветитьAs seen in last mohicans movie. Mohigans ok, You Know why, Mowhawk. Killers. That's why states.
ОтветитьFinally you know.
ОтветитьI've never seen this painting either- weird wtf
