People didn't support the games enough
ОтветитьI love that Matt loves fighting games. He almost makes me want to get back into them… but no, no I won’t.
ОтветитьSega kills Eternal Champions because they don't want it stealing VFs potential business by saturating the market... Then creates multiple other fighting games and saturates the market, screwing VF in the process
I loved Sega as a kid, but Sega of Japan is just inane
Going back to Virtua Fighter 2 was like trying to jump on a trampoline with crippling back pain 😢
ОтветитьFantastic video as usual...i d have shown some SS/MODEL 2 DOA footage instead of the quite different PS1 port though...when magnifying VF3 gfx i d compare it to TEKKEN 3 more than QUAKE gfx, to show how beyond that game (released 1 year later...ported to PS1 in 1998, btw) it was...
ОтветитьI wanna see a DC vs. Sega crossover fighting game (especially in the hopes of seeing the Flash fight against Sonic the Hedgehog).
ОтветитьI'm putting it out there I prefer. D.O.A. And Virtua Fighter over Tekken any day.
ОтветитьNo love for Eternal Champions? It's my favourite Sega fighting game.
ОтветитьWolf vs jefry lmfao 🤣
ОтветитьSonic got a second fighting game with Sonic Battle on the GBA
ОтветитьPlease consider talking about Virtua Quest sometime. Its a weird cousin of Virtua Fighter. Its pretty bad, but also... good in some ways? I liked its upgrade system and customizable moveset for the protagonist.
ОтветитьHoly, what emulator are you using to play fighters megamix in there? It looks so CLEAN!
ОтветитьFortunately or unfortunately the virtua fighter 5 engine lives on to be used in the project diva games
ОтветитьAnd.. VF5US ended up being real and a fucking success. God bless sega.
Ответитьi honestly want a remaster of Fighters Megamix, a Fighting Vipers 3, and a new Virtua Fighter
ОтветитьDefinitely feel like VF strugglin' outside of Japan is some form of karma for SoJ's treatment of SoA back in the 90's.
ОтветитьI prefer eternal champions than vf. F u Sega of japan
ОтветитьWhere is the intro music from? It's driving me crazy! I know I know it!
ОтветитьI remember the first time I played Last Bronx. It was at an old Nathan's in The Bronx (I know), and I was hooked. When I got the PC port, it was one of the first PC games I bought for myself. I'm sad that Last Bronx didn't get more love, because it was such an intense game with solid characters and great fights.
ОтветитьI was a Sega kid the fighters Megamix was my Super Smash Brothers
ОтветитьI never understood the Virtua Fighter figthing system.. IT always felt like it was very stiff to me and i couldn't do anything. I was hoping to see a "mechanics" side of the history of the franchise like, how the mechanics evolved but unfortunately it wasn't the case.
Still good ! Thanks !
We need more flophouse files! I love this series!
ОтветитьI just love the ‘Flophouse’ 🤗
ОтветитьFighting vipers was so sick as a kid. Been trying to find this game for a long time as I never actually knew the name lol
ОтветитьSega's next major collection should be a Model 2/Model 3 collection.
ОтветитьI was always willing to find a different game to play
Never was amused by the animations of Virtual Fighter
Simple, traditional, martial arts game, Holosseum: HOLOGRAMS!
UNCONVENTIONAL. SCI FI. THREE DIMENSONAL COMBAT GAME. DAAAARK EEEEDGEEEEE: crt monitor.
No mention of VF Kids? Or did I blink and miss it?
ОтветитьIf nothing else, this video reminded me that Last Bronx was ever a thing. I enjoyed Fighters Megami back in the day, but was never a major VF fan. I was one of the kids though staring longingly through shop windows watching trailers for the upcoming Tekken running on the PlayStation. I'll never forget the moment I first saw Law run up his opponents chest and then land on them. That was the future.
ОтветитьLove how when mentioning Dead or Alive using the Model 2 hardware and VF2 source code (Saturn version also used the Saturn VF2 source code), decided to show the PS1 version which used an inhouse engine based as they weren't licenced to use it for obvious reasons, and this inhouse engine was based on Tekken 3 from observation (don't know if they managed to get any of the actual code, but DOA++ the arcade version of the PS1 port is running on hardware identical to the Tekken 3 arcade board).
ОтветитьBro, Holograpgic arcade cabinets are so sick lol
ОтветитьMat love your flopfile... you should do one on blizzard!
ОтветитьFor me .... Fighters Megamix was like Christmas coming early. Never forgotten.
ОтветитьDidn't Sega make VirtualOn? I thought that game had a pretty sweet concept
ОтветитьI got VF showdown from the PS store a few months ago for free too lol
ОтветитьFighting vipers? Ya mean JoJo without stands Right? Lmao
ОтветитьI had a Sega 32X and only had Virtua Fighter and Knuckles Chaotix.
ОтветитьHonestly bought a Saturn just for VF1 back in the olden days...
ОтветитьThank you for using the VF anime theme and T2 character select theme
ОтветитьFor all matter and purpose, Virtua Fighters was the first Shenmue game
ОтветитьI need me some Virtua Fighter 6. That’d be a day one purchase, no question.
ОтветитьStill patiently waiting for VF6
ОтветитьI remember playing Fighters Megamix in my childhood. One of my favorites
