I thought this was going to be like the new SNL, which had gotten lame and biased too one side but by god this was hilarious.

Pretty sure there are no republicans at all within 500 feet of that set.

I wasn't loving this sketch, and then the instant Cecily came out as Liz Cheney I burst out laughing.

The second guest was pretty obvious that she was not Republican.

This is the funniest SNL sketch in 10 years, straight down the middle no bias, terrific.

I like how the Lynn Cheney joke was so anti-Republican, outlined the ridiculousness of the entire premise and was so clever it flew over most Republican's heads.

For those who didn't get it, here's the entirely unfunny explanation. The punchline is that Republican is not an ideology, it is not a shared set of values, it's not a community, and it's not an identity. You don't know who a Republican is by what they say, or what they believe because they don't matter, but when you try to figure out who is a Republican you assume it's any or all of those things. The Republican party is a political organization, the extent to which it has an ideology, values, a community or identity is entirely within the people actively employed by it, actively representing it in office and actively supporting it financially to the extent that the support is important and can be taken away.

If you have any doubts, see Lynn Cheney, her ideology didn't change, her values didn't change, she grew up in the community and she identifies as a Republican. But she's not a Republican because none of that was important enough to the Republican organization of Wyoming to offset the unforgivable thing she did.

What happened to the left rioting and gathering to protest the 1%? The Wall Street protests? Anyone remember that? Before Covid? Yeah...
