Do both cameras work in parking mode, or just the front camera?

I bought one. $200 seems overpriced. A bit of a gadget. My cigarette lighter shuts off when I turn off car so I can't use when parked, which is what I wanted it for. Guess I have to have it hard wired??

This dashcam is garbage!!! Freezes constantly and stops recording. I'm I'm my 2nd one and it has the same problems.

Nope. It has a battery.

I purchased the N2 and quickly returned the unit. First they suggested to upgrade the software via download and apply it to the SD card? Directions were very poor and the whole process made no sense. It appears you have to jump through too many loops before you can even get the unit up and running.
Very frustrating.
I would look for another cam. For the price you should be able to plug and play

Do u think this will capture the side view of the car well? There’re a tons of cameras for front and back, but nothing for the sides. If u get T Boned or hit on the side, typical front/back camera cannot capture that. What do U think?

Returned mine today. Maybe I wasn't lucky, but my brand new very expensive Vantrue N 2 pro was a junk. Vantrue customer service useless. Could not see the videos. After hours of work I could see the videos on the cam, but not on PC and when power on the cam erased all videos. Ordered a Rexing v2. I hope will work.

i don't like where the power cord goes....which is on the side. they should have the power cord top or bottom, that way you can hide the cord somewhat.

Great review. I do like mine. Its hard wired, and done its job, reliably and fine. But, you mentioned "for the value" ? How, how the cost of this unit does not include a sd card blows my mind, THEN, want GPS/SPEED tracking, kick in even more money. Also, no wifi? Welcome to 2006. Again, it's a great unit, ran mine for 2 years flawlessly, has not "melted" or deformed like I've seen in some other posts, and it gets beyond hot here in the desert, parked at work for 14 hours straight. I just wish, for the cost, it came with a sd card, and GPS mount outta the box. And would kill for wifi. Every other camera on the market these days, at half the cost does all these things. Just my .02

This camera is one of the scams in the industry, I know 3 people that have returned it, I just spoke to one of the vendors, and he told me the problem they are having here in Fl is the heat, the interior of the camera is burning up, and everyone is returning them.

The man's singing made this whole video worth while, because the camera is a piece of shit! Just found out it's being recalled. Long live the king!

Don't quit your day job

Bought this camera from Amazon. It got crushed in the box by another larger heavier item. I decided to try it but noticed the lens and screen covers were missing. Seems I was sent an opened used camera - though I’d paid for a new camera. This is not the first time Amazon has shipped me a used product. I am returning it and will reorder directly from Vantrue.

So with the front camera - you have to manually set it to ‘night time’ mode before driving at night, then back to day mode the next morning ? Seems it should use light levels, time setting and / or GPS location to auto set that mode.

How do you set it up to capture other car's license plate clearly? It could barely capture a license plate right in front of me when car was fully stopping let along hit n run 😛

is it weatherproof for motorcycle ? with motion huge alarm if someone rob it from the motorcycle ? with remote control to disable it remotely so the alarm won't start ?

Yes it is the best but very pricey which make it not good compared to the cheapest ones which can do the same job

Don’t forget you have to buy the Samsung memory card, such a hassle.

On my third, great camera just can’t leave it in the window as the sun will melt your battery. Bad battery location.
