CIRCLE (2015) Explained

This movie was cool and unique, but obviously not without plot holes. Just one:

They kept saying something to the effect of “we just need X votes for a majority!!”… but it wouldn’t be necessary to get a majority vote. It was simply whoever had the most votes that got killed - a majority wasn’t necessary. For example, you might have 10 people. One person has 4 votes. 6 people have 1 vote. The one person with 4 votes didn’t have a majority, but still had the most, and thus would be killed

Serious question, what was going to happen if he sacrificed himself for the unborn baby? The mother was already dead so the baby was on a time limit anyway and wouldn't know what was going on because it's in utero and can't vote for themselves. Would the aliens take the baby out of let them die with the mother? And if they did take the baby out, who would they give it to or would they keep it? They sent all the winners back out apparently so would the baby get the firehouse treatment or prom night dumpster baby treatment?

Tf was that ending with the baby? The baby could decide? The mother is dead but not them? ALSO what bother me the most the whole movie, and maybe im being to realistic and not seeing the "movie", at ANY point they know FACTUALLY that the last person gets to live. Why are they playing that game?

So In the end we see a couple pregnant ladies survived but does this mean the circle didn’t account for the unborn child as a living being or is the baby in their stomach just now a corpse ?… and if the baby did get shocked how did the mother survive that.?

This movie was an hour and half of my life I won’t get back. Sure, it made a statement about humanity and selfishness. But the plot and story and overall ending was disappointing.

I'd love this movie to be done in all cultures. It'd be interesting to see the differences that occur. Because, we're only looking at American.... specifically south western American views.

I think an error or missed plot point was the fact that the soldier says he has a 7 month old and then hesitates when he’s about to say when he last saw his wife. She could have cheated

Did anyone else catch that when the jerk was explaining the process of elimination, he said: "The last man standing gets to walk out of here alive" and a lady said "..or woman" revealing his plan since the start and no one had caught unto it yet. Also why he chose to save the pregnant lady when the other guy secretly voted her which resulted in a tie.

The movie kinda says that the baby in the belly is a living soul deserving a choice at the end

There is a plot hole in the movie. No pregnant women should be alive because as in the end the baby was also the part of the game. If any pregnant lady survies at the end, she will be forced to kill the baby inside her which will kill her.

I have 20 min left of this movie and can't wait for it to end. It's terrible. No premise. No story. No back story. No one to root for. Bunch of nonsense.

Honestly, I was very disappointed with this movie. Just when you think the characters are getting somewhere in the movie, they end up right back where they started. For lack of a better term, this movie just kept going in circles.

The hidden meaning of all this is also a very intelligent manipulator can get far in life than people who hold values and morals. That's true in real life as well. We can see almost all politicians or bosses in top 1% will manipulate their way to the top of mountain. Including sacrifices their own sanity.

What I love about the end is that the guy who lives is literally killing to survive. This whole time, he has been deceiving others in order to be the last one standing. But when he votes for the fetus, he chooses to kill a helpless human, no trickery, just plain murder in order to save himself.

Honestly I would have killed the baby too especially if you don't know what would await the child like being food, enslaved later on, studied or forcedto continously play this game as it grew up. Either way the chances of this child having a good future later are were basically slim to none.

It is really quite scary to see the admiration for what is essentially psychopathy. I think nobody is morally culpable in this situation. I think this is just a tragedy. There’s no right way to play this game, it’s broken to begin with.

I'm sorry but the metaphor for society in this movie doesn't work at all. The people in this situation are placed on a strict time limit with death as the motivation. They have absolutely nothing to go on except the superficial attributes of the people around them, and if they make the wrong choice or assessment they die.

Makeing judgement calls on people based off superfical attributes is a bad way to make good judgements about them, but you know what its better than? Making judgements based off absolutely nothing. Since they have only been in the same room together for like 20 seconds they literally cant do anything else.

If anything the message of this movie is that judging people by their superficial attributes is very useful and could be the difference between life and death when weirdo's are forcing you to make quick judgement calls or die.

This explanation makes no sense to me to be honest (or does not satisfy me) and i hate how the movie ended
