of all the places this show could have gone
ОтветитьLucifer is an amazing show.
ОтветитьThe only thing I dont enjoy in this series is the fact that the first person they talk to it is allways the killer!
Ответитьat the very least, the show addresses the unfairness of the guilt-based-hell system. Probably going to be dealt with next season...They did Dan dirty
ОтветитьI am going to release a spoiler for season 6 since I am one of the few people who is in the know about what is on the cards for season 6. Ella Lopez will be given the powers of God. She is the natural successor. It also helps that she is also a scientist and understands the workings of nature. So folks you heard it here first!!!
ОтветитьYour the best Jeremy ! 😎
ОтветитьTo be real here…. Dan did a LOT of terrible things and he NEVER fully came to terms with himself and his choices. He confronted some of it but certainly not all.
ОтветитьBoth Dennis Haysbert (God) and DB Woodside (Amenadiel) were president Palmers on 24. Dennis was David Palmer and DB Woodside was Wayne Palmer, his brother. Now they're father and son on Lucifer
ОтветитьI love the show but the season finale... There's absolutely could have been a better story. Like more epic sequence when lucifer actually becames god and returns back to earth. Show really lacked that hero moment. We're talking about becoming god here.
ОтветитьI thought the back half of the season was way stronger than the first half. My weakest point was Dan's death scene, not that the actor didn't try his best, but it was much more powerful during the shot, pause 2nd, 3rd shot. The gasping breath death was just weak and cliche. Kinda undid the dying as a hero in action death moment they'd just done. Otherwise I was all in this second half. My only other negative is how the show tends to constantly use minority actors for bad guy roles, which considering its a very pro-police show feels incredibly tone deaf in this moment. Being pro-cop is a tough sell right now and while choosing to ignore COVID and the state of the world is fair, it just seems wrong to play into the institutionalized racist portraits of minorities as untrustworthy and even villainous. Especially during this current climate of fear mongering, white supremacy, and police violence. Felt tone deaf but idk maybe they be filmed it waaaay pre the 2020 COVID and BLM stuff
ОтветитьPersonally, I think this season (or part 2 of it) was a big step down in terms of what the series has been about. Characters don't quite feel the same as they used to, and I just don't buy that celestial beings that are literally THOUSANDS of years old are this naïve and don't know how the world works. Purely from a logical perspective, they should know better. There were also quite a few logical plot holes in this, which bothered me. I still like the show, but Season 5 part 2 felt worse than I remember the other seasons to be.
Ответитьpsychopaths would feel little to no guilt i guess? so, i guess hell is better populated?
ОтветитьLoved the whole thing up until the last episode. Felt like the writers cramped 2-3 episodes into the last 25mins of the episode. Glad that wasn't the finale cause that would be game of thrones level of shitty.
ОтветитьThis whole season really played up Dan. So fuck them for that.
ОтветитьI feel stupid for saying this, given that i skipped a lot of scenes that i shouldnt have, but for a season that kept reminding you that Chloe isnt just a gift for Lucifer—they certainly made all of her scenes seem like they revolve around him. I miss my ‘dont need a man’—Chloe. This one seemed like a love-obsessed high schooler. Reminded me of Sansa.
ОтветитьIt's correct that the "your guilt makes you go to hell" idea is seriously flawed. It pretty much means that the worst of the worst would be able to go to heaven. Like deranged serial killers that are not even capable of feeling guilt. But, to be fair, Lucifer himself says that the entire system is broken.
ОтветитьI just hated how they didn't go help Dan when they found out he was in hell
ОтветитьThis season wasn’t B b b bad
ОтветитьI've just finished 5B and have searched up info on Season Six, and apparently, all the Episodes have been written and titled.
And one episode is called, "Save the Devil, Save the World". A Heroes references in 2021, what a fucking world.
I honestly never really cared about Dan's character, and tge episode on his prank was most boring for me. Only thing before these last episodes that stood out for me was the time he learned Lucifer's nature and went to Charlotte's grave to express his fear for the future of his daughter.
On another topic, Ella does give off a Dexter vube, would very much like to see her become one ☺ ina reboot/remake/re-whatever
With the Dark Passenger being Angel of Death herself 😁
When Dan died I shed way more tears than when tony stark died
ОтветитьI get Jeremy's understanding of Old Testament God to New Testament...but it wasn't so much growth...as it was actually him executing his design as it had to be done to the letter. The concept of God retiring is....and Lucifer is an option....and...😶
ОтветитьBollocks ending
ОтветитьExcept when you remove Jesus the new testament makes no sense, and Gods mercy makes no sense. The reason for hell in the show makes zero sense. Typical when atheists take the bible and mold it into their vision. I like the show. But it really makes no sense alot.
ОтветитьThe last 2 episodes Actually made me cry
ОтветитьEvery episode of part 2 was a masterpiece especially the prank he pulled on Dan and the last 2 episodes so much emotion made me cry
ОтветитьI didn't like this season that much it tries to be emotional too much and sometimes it seems so artifical.
ОтветитьI heard Tom Ellis say in an interview that when they found out there was going to be an S6, they had to change the planned ending of S5B a bit, as S5 was originally the last season of the show. In addition, Ellis commented that the final battle in the stadium had to be between several angels, but due to the restrictions due to COVID they had to limit the fight between Lucifer and Michael.
ОтветитьCool hair, bro.
(Genuine Voltaire fan comment. xD)
I loved the first 3 seasons, 4th one was better than I hoped for, so still okay, but the 5th... oh, man. I recommend people not to watch it past season 3, unless they enjoy chill shows with no substance.
ОтветитьOne of my favorite things in this season is kind of what you mentioned with God being all powerful yet a troubled father. I like the scene's where he kind of interacts with humans and just seems so awkward and out of place, because he is. I like the idea of I guess kind of the main antagonist of the series just seeming lost among his creations
ОтветитьLoved this season, so many nods to past seasons for the long time fans, great arc with Dan and Tom Ellis proving he is a Bona Fide movie star, how he goes from rage, to utter dejection when Trixie asks him about her Dad is exquisite.
ОтветитьThe worst season ever.
ОтветитьOh my god I watching this now and I just had a mini heart attack when you said fathers day is coming up then I remembered that it is already past.
ОтветитьLucifer is charming as hell lol.
ОтветитьPretty sure it's going to be revealed that Michael killed Dan with Azriel's blade on his way into Heaven. So that way Michael destroyed Dan's soul, preventing him from the eternity of happiness he earned.
ОтветитьSpoiler warning * Richard Castle lays his pen down and submits his script for "Castle: Supernatural edition "
Seriously during the break I discovered Castle and was heartbroken that so much, if not all of the show outside of angels and demons, is a complete ripoff of Castle.
It's so bad, the moon base killer episode was yanked directly from the Mars base episode. It's the same damn thing.
The show could have been anything.. maybe Dream shows up and banters with Lucifer. Or any of the Endless. Or a real Constatine cameo.
Nope.. Castle ripoff
I hate season 5 part 2 , I prefer the show when it was dark like s4
ОтветитьI love this show I recommend it to everyone the one last god scene made me cry it was amazing
ОтветитьThe one part I absolutely hated. Was the musical parts. It just didn’t work well with the story at all. And the excuse of that logs is doing it” just wasn’t a good enough excuse for it.
I like Lucifer because it’s a crime DRAMA, not a musical. Don’t make your characters randomly break into song and dance in your crime DRAMA SHOW!!!
I'm also weirded out about the concept of those who bear guilt go to hell cuz... what?! So... with that logistics, heaven would just be filled with psychopaths and sociopaths cuz guess what they don't fucking feel shit... but overall I love the show.
Ответитьif season 6 didn't happen 5b would've been a pretty solid series finale. I hope they don't squander it
ОтветитьYou are Lucifer
ОтветитьI just finished binge watching "Lucifer," and it was great! I thoroughly enjoyed watching Tom Ellis. Can't wait until Season 6.
ОтветитьPeople getting out of hell has always been a thing (since season 2) There’s a few lines in the episode where Chloe almost dies that establishes how hell, the torments and leaving hell all works.
I also noticed in your last review on part 1 you mentioned things like Chloe being a gift which was also established in season 2. I’m sure anyone would react like Chloe when you find out you were made for someone and it might have worked better if it was brought up in season 4 since Eve could relate to it. I guess season 2 was adding a bunch of lure which makes sense since that’s when the show started being more story driven, but none of the lure had any significance or impact till now.
I was a wreck when they killed Dan off 😭😭😭 I sobbed pretty much the entire episode.
I was already emotional from the end of the previous episode with seeing Charlotte again and God finally saying he loved Lucifer and was proud of him. 💔
THEY BETTER BRING DAN BACK/ SEND HIM TO HEAVEN. 😢😢😢
Yeah sorry Jeremy but New Testament god is arguably more heinous and wicked considering he introduced the religion to hell and the reasoning for isn't because you're a terrible person, it's because you don't believe in their religion among the 2000+ other gods.
ОтветитьI wonder if we can still call this show Lucifer now that He is God in the next season?
ОтветитьWhen Lucifer said to Chloe "I love you" i cried like a baby
