Thank you for another great reaction to Ren. I look forward to every one because I never know what insights I might see from the light you bring to the analysis and my awareness.
ОтветитьYour Ren reactions make me dig a little deeper into the theories. Thank you for the brain spark.
ОтветитьGood stuff. Appreciate the analysis of what is behind Ren's lyrics and visuals. He speaks hard truths to what sometimes motivates us and can lead us down a harmful path to our own detriment and the fragmentation of society in general, regardless of country. And now you shine a flashlight on that path so we can see it and understand more clearly. Your reaction has amplified and expanded Ren's talent and message.
Ответить❤
ОтветитьYou have very quickly become one of my top reactors. I feel truly honoured to be alive at the same time as Ren.
A little info on Shell Oil.
In 1833, Marcus Samuel decided to expand his London business. He already sold antiques but decided to try selling oriental seashells as well, capitalising on their popularity in the interior design industry at that time.
The demand was so great that he began importing the shells from the Far East, laying the foundations for an import-export business that would ultimately become one of the world's leading energy companies.
When Marcus Samuel senior died in 1870 he passed the business on to his two sons, Marcus junior and Samuel, who began to expand it. In the 1880s they became particularly interested in the oil exporting business but shipping still posed a problem as oil was carried in barrels which could leak and took up a lot of space. To solve the problem, they commissioned a fleet of steamers to carry oil in bulk, including the Murex which, in 1892, became the first oil tanker to pass through the Suez Canal.
Knowing this makes Ren's lyrics even more impressive.
Look into the history of Shell Oil Corp. The founders actually sold sea shells.
ОтветитьI love watching your journey through the rabbit hole. as much as Ren unapologetically speaks the truth, it is the grace, the eloquence and ability to not just bring a beauty to it, but a way to understand and absorb it while leaving us in a safe place. I have never felt like I had just been dropped on a bed of nails. I appreciate and am amazed by this every time. his gift of leaving us wrapped in comforting hope is unmatched.
he lives his life ruled by love, not by fear, and it shines through.
RENegade for life!
🌸❤️🎶🙏🎶❤️🌸
Thanks for another great reaction 👍❤
After reacting to Money Game 3, you could continue with 'Eden'. It's a kind of culmination of the Money Game trilogy. It's not really a song but absolutely brilliant. "It was the last 'prize' in the social media treasure hunt he had people playing online to market MG3. The treasure hunts were set up in such a way that each hunt required so many divergent skill sets that online communities started developing that included all these skill sets to solve the riddles. The treasure hunt showed the power of a group working together to something that just one person can't." (Copied from @loriculver7282 because it's worded so good.)
And then there is 'Crucify Your Culture'. Another great song by Ren that strikes the same chord.
I'm a 3rd year psychology major. I've actually used examples from Ren in research papers.
He's a very intelligent man, he has a lot of very accurate insights into the human condition.
From my understanding, from all his Instagram posts, his Chapters, etc, Ren is an extremely well-read person who also learns from the people he is around.
I love Ren's music, I think he's an amazing human, and I love the learning one can do by listening to him.
You mentioned several times learning from Ren and that's something I appreciate about his music.
🔥Great job
Ответить“You’re a liar, a cheat, a devil, a whore and you sell sea shells on the sea shore”.
If I had to choose a favourite line from the whole song, it would be this. Essentially, he is saying that you are a s**t covered in a thick layer of marzipan - the wealth and the power hide the fact that, when all is said and done, you are actually the dregs of society.
Ren wrote this song during covid. Hence, the lack of a music video. Gives the lyrics an interesting context.
ОтветитьAbsolutely fantastic as always!! Thank you so much! Your words are a salve to my brain in this crazy world ❤
On your own, you may want to check out the video version of this, simply because his voice sounds so good 😂
Enjoyed your thoughts on the Money Game
ОтветитьI really enjoy watching your videos. There is always either a gem of knowledge that gives me something to thing about or a perspective that I had not considered which again, gives me something to think about. Intelligent lyrics mixed with great music is what first brought me to Ren and even changed my mind regarding rap a genre of music I had previously blown off because of violent and / or misogynistic lyrics. The combo of Ren's music and your insight is the cerebral workout I love to engage in.
ОтветитьWow love your analysis
ОтветитьThe old adage “divide and conquer” is alive and well…
ОтветитьAwesome reaction! Thanks for doing what you do!
ОтветитьRen is a lyrical genius, love your reaction hun! 💖😘
Ответить👍
ОтветитьI loved your breakdown of the video. 💛💛💛
ОтветитьDo you do reactions on drug abuse type music if so I would absolutely a very talented guy called Red Leather if you like story music like Ren then Red’s song the only time it rains in Hollywood or just any of his songs. They are all very good. Red leather has a more country/rock/outlaw kind of vibe so if it’s not your thing just maybe give I listen because he made me enjoy that type of music.
ОтветитьI came across your channel for the first time tonight and have watched several of your Ren reactions. At this point I've seen many, many reactions to Ren's music, many of which are great, but yours are by far the most intelligent and insightful. Just wanted to drop a note of appreciation! I'll be visiting regularly from now on. ♥
ОтветитьHow about you listen to Bo Burnhams Problem Solving Song
ОтветитьI should have been a psycotherapist. All of this comes so naturally to me. Always has.
ОтветитьWe are all hypocrites. I buy new labels, and clothes, that I don’t need, while I know there are folk in Somalia, Yemen, Gaza, Ukraine and more, who could make better use of the £80 I spend on a new Lacoste - when I have loads already.
We look at history and wonder how good folk could abide slavery, subjugation, blatant exploitation, but point the mirror at yourself.
Not even pressurised into indulgent consumption, I choose it to conform on some level.
Just decided, going to find a way to be incrementally better.
Thanks for your wise reaction. ❤.
Another great reaction and break down of Rens music/art!!!! You speak of things that are stored back somewhere in my brain, but haven’t thought about in ages! And I have not applied when thinking of Rens music! So thank you again. ❤✌️
Ответить🔥🔥🔥💜💜💜
ОтветитьAn interesting point is that Shell Oil Company began in the mid 1800's as a business that sold shells and misc. items. So many levels to his songs it's beautiful. A positive (?) note I will add here for the people outside the U.K.: The people running Britain at the time of this song have since been ousted from power by a massive landslide in the last election. It is yet to be seen if the Party voted in is any better... but the people listened (I hope this isn't considered political talk, sorry if it does!).
There is another older one he did "pre Hi Ren" called Crucify Your Culture. It's another strong commentary on the breakdown of society as he sees it and is also just a great song. Thanks for coming back to these two :)
Found your channel a couple of days ago, binge watching your reactions to Ren since
I love your insights of Ren’s art
Music does heal ❤
Ren’s music has had a huge impact in my life, there is no other artist who connects so much thru his music
can never skip a music heals reaction video. thankyou so much for sharing our emotions
ОтветитьI look forward to your Money Game 3 reaction!
ОтветитьI love your reactions and analysis of Ren's music. Great job breaking it down for everyone, making the messaging easy to relate to on a human level. Ren's music is always so relatable and powerful. I, and others, would love to see your reaction and analysis of his song "Crucify Your Culture". ❤
ОтветитьI'd LOVE to hear your take on an older Ren song that hardly anyone reacts to and it's my fave! REN - PENITENCE 🔥🖤🤘 VERY emotional.
Ответить"She sells sea shells..." that's the line he's refering and mocking in "Hi Ren".
ОтветитьEven without success and vast amounts of wealth, we’re all complicit in the money game. Most people have a mobile phone, clothes or a car that was built using child labour abroad. Kids die mining cobalt etc. and we remain wilfully ignorant of the suffering as we provide the demand and exchange money for comfort and convenience. Great reaction, shorter than some of your other ones but there wasn’t much to say I suppose because Ren nailed it
ОтветитьI always say Im going to school when sitting down to watch many Ren videos. He is brilliant.
Ответить'for the love of money' by the Ojays, that was bugging me, I recognized your little riff but couldn't remember who it was
Temptations nah, Sly & the Family Stone nah, Harold Melvin nah, got there in the end
in other matters; are you going to do Money Game 3 ?
It's different than 1 and 2 and there is a psychological familial thread running through it that I think might interest you
Edit: found it, carry on😁
Really love your analyses and take on these reactions. Thanks ❤
