I just got into this band I don’t know the members name yet but doesn’t the singers voice sound like Fall Out Boy kind of?!? Patrick something is his name and this song has a close copy of part from Ride the lighting by Metallica

Can someone explain the music theory as to why the singer sounds almost like major key but the guitarist sounds minor key but he's somehow not sounding out of key at all? Is it just same key but different parts of the key? I haven't read up on music theory much so I need someone to explain why exactly it would come off kind of like that?
