Tomlin picks coordinators that's run heavy. That's what he wants. Run the ball play good defense. Problem your oline not that good and your RB is maybe top 15 maybe. You run the ball on first and 2nd down. Get 3 yards. Now the defense know you gotta pass. No oline can give you 5 secs. So now you gotta punt. It's been rinse lather repeat because they don't want to adjust. For the 4th straight year you've worn out the defense. Because of punts and turnovers. This style of play does not work in today's NFL. The defense is predicated on getting sacks. If they don't get sacks they can't do anything else.

Mike tomlin inherited a good team and has steadily allowed the team to get worse and worse year after year. Can anyone think of a single coach on the tomlin tree that has been poached to another team. The answer is none the roony family needs to fire everyone except the Kahn artist. Or this team will never be a contender again

These people are more concerned with confirming their biases about RW than actually evaluating the issues this team is facing. Forget the numbers, just our eyes alone showed us how Russ elevated the offense. The playcalling is awful and does no favors for that below average OL. Receivers are not getting open and when RW scrambles they stay in their spots instead of coming to the ball. That's on coaching. Same with the defense, the disconnect there starts with coaching. Switching QBs fixes nothing.

Everyone talking.... but no one with a solution. Here's the simple solution:
1. Start Jaylen Warren at RB
2. Focus the offense on George Pickens early and often.
3. George Pickens should see 12-15 targets per game not Najee getting 12-15 carries.
4. Be aggressive on 4th down like every other team in the NFL Steelers should not be afraid of 4th and 2 on offense.
5. Muth should see 7 targets/game.
6. Red Zone needs 2 trick plays executed in the playoffs.
7. Defense needs to be simplified on 3rd down only. It's simple; find the opponents best player and double team him. (just like the Patriots use to.) Defense solved.
8. Clock management needs to change. Stop worrying about saving timeouts til the end. In a blowout those timeouts are meaningless.
Use a timeout when the defense is getting gashed, gassed or an opponent who started at their own 5 yard line suddenly reaches mid field. That's when you call a T.O and get the defense regrouped, focused and a little bit rested.
9. Not calling so much no huddle. The No huddle offense should be used as a weapon, not just called every play. Because then it's ineffective.
10. Stop killing drives just to get Najee in on a few snaps. If Jaylen is cooking and the offense is jelling then leave Jaylen in the game. So many drives are killed because Arthur is trying to get Najee going. If Najee has 4 carries and the Steelers win, nobody will care.
11. Lastly, and most importantly.... The first 15 scripted plays MUST change. Steelers need to try something they're not comfortable with and I guarantee it would work. How about starting the game off with 10 - 15 straight pass plays and no run plays. There are no defenses in the NFL prepared for the Steelers to start a MUST WIN playoff game like that. Steelers need to use deception to counter act their lack of creativity.
