How to Note-Take and Remember MORE + Study LESS

When I was in school, I could get better grades than a lot of other students who seemingly studied hard. One difference I think was that I rarely took any notes during the classes, whilst others were early writing down what the teachers said. What I thought was that taking notes is a waste of time and by doing so, you can't focus on what the teachers are saying.

After graduating from college 3 and a half decades ago, I realized that you can use speech to text technology and use AI to summerize then use that as a base and in the meanwhile, you can use your brain power to a different task and learn to be intelligent.

my problem is that I am very uncreative and not a visual person like I cant visualize anything complex in my mind. Ive heard of this for a while now but everytime I try it it just becomes a regular mindmap which is a lower order thinking proccess. Im studying physics at the University of Stuttgart in Germany and Im having trouble making good notes. I wonder why this stuff hasnt been tought in school..

I have just a question: should I do a non-linear note taking for each class I have or should I try to fill in the new informations from a class in a previous "mind map" I've already started? I have this doubt, because, sometimes, we have a lot of classes for different subjects that are parts of s great theme. So, I don't know if I should do a non-linear note-taking for each of these classes or if I should just create a big mind map with everything about that one big theme.

Personally in my latest biology test. I had a huge amount of information to learn. But what I did is to take the main information such as the functions and names and wrote them down, sometimes as a mind map. And then the rest info I just challenged myself to learn without writing it down. I’m still waiting for the result. So I hope my learning process was helping me enough to reach the grade I want.

What about huge amounts of information? Even if I take notes, there is still so much information to take in, that writing even only the most important things takes so much time? Should I skip note taking? Should I map only the super general things?

what about languages?I need to learn a language and somehow I cant connect the words with eachother?I need practise? Same with mathematics? Basically how do you effectively practise?I think im doing it wrong.

I see this method in the way of mind-map, but I don't see how it does help in my MBA to learn all the details I will get asked in the tests. I have 500 pages PDFs to learn, and they also ask - who made this graphic for a method, finance-instrument. Furthermore, I see what you showed that it helps to understand and get the connections, but this you get also with a normal digital mind map you can do with a lot of software. Maybe your example wasn't good enough to show really the advantages of your method, but in the end it is to me just a normal Mind-Map but handwritten.

Man u don’t understand how targeted I felt watching this 😂 of all topics and subjects you had to pick, you picked EAS. I am that person with copious amounts of notes who doesn’t test as well as those who didn’t take as many. The only key difference is that the tests are open notes so I thought I could just go with this method 😅😂😢sadly it doesn’t work. At least not for me.

Too much BS....you don't come to the point you want to tell. Too much word salad. Going around and around with too many unnecessary things and then finally coming to the point. Viewers have no time to waste time like this for unnecessary stories. Just come straight to the point you want people to tell.
And you spend very little time on HOW to do it with very simple examples.
This video can be cut down to 10 minutes if you remove all your unnecessary words jargon and stories. Just come straight to the point and tell us how to do it with a better example. So that you provide better value for people

Do I write non-linear notes as I'm going through the lecture and video or after.

as i'm searching for learning, i've seen this video and catches my attention. I'll apply this asap 'cos i'm always the low order thinking skills. You got it right, the ones who is taking more notes has lower grades compared to those who don't/notes less and prefers to listen and understand. I hope this will ultimately change my learning.
