IF they asked what is your fee, he should of thought quickly on his feet and say $200,000, and negotiate from there.

"I don't wanna cut you out of the loop, cause this here's a good deal. I assume, if you're not interested, you won't mind if we move on it, independently."

I don't wanna you out of the loop, so I'm just gonna go ahead and cut you out of the loop completely.

If they'd let him in as a 3rd partner on a deal the other two clearly thought was good, then defeated Jerry would have thought he was up to their standards of being a man. Instead, he again was totally deflated, made to almost be lqughed at, and set into motion the multiple murders of people . Its a sad story if not for the lady cop.

He didn't get the money. His wife's fate is sealed at this point and his whole scheme is ended. All that's left is for the fraud to come to light, the thugs to figure out that no payment is forthcoming, and for Jerry to be arrested. Nothing can change any of that now; except maybe a talk to ol' Bill Deil at Midwest Federal.

You can literally feel Jerry's heart sink into his chest when Wade asks "What finder's fee were you looking for "? Jerry genuinely belived he and Wade could be co-partners - with Jerry getting most of the profit . It never occurred to him Wade was never going to give him that power because he doesn't see Jerry as his equal . Wade offering Jerry a finders fee was about as good as he was going to be with him - infact Wade probably thought he was being overly generous . Also notice how when Wade says " I dont want to cut you out , but this here's a good deal" he looks at Stan and when he says to Jerry " I assume if you're not interested you wont mind if we make a move - independently " he looks directly at Jerry . It shows despite acknowledging Jerry's lot is a good idea he still has no regard for Jerry as a person . There's also something very backhanded when he says to Jerry " I assume if you're not interested you wont mind if we make a move - independently ". He's basically telling him he can either have the scraps or nothing - infact he's practically telling Jerry he'll give him nothing for his efforts . By the end of the coversation he's pretty much bullied his son in-law by hijacking his business deal.

Rewatching this scene for the umpteenth time, it just occurred to me;
A 10% "fider's fee" for a $750,000 investment comes to $75,000, which, for Jerry in 1987, isn't bad at all.

I appreciate the fact that they never reveal why he's so desperate in the first place.

I've always wondered what definers fee would have been I know he needed 300 something thousand dollars but he could have at least got maybe a hundred grand finders fee and got the people at GMAC off his neck for a while and come up with some other type of strategy or maybe I'm thinking too much into Fargo

When you realize that was a movie set and not a location office! I was watching "Blood Simple" the other day and realized the Coen brothers are not only best with their interiors, but how they light the set up too. I only started to notice these details when I volunteered at my local community theater to help build the sets.
