"I work 12 hours a day..."
"Shift starts at 8PM and ends at about 5AM".
It's not even that bad
ОтветитьINSANE! It's like Bladerunner
Ответитьautogeddon!
ОтветитьImagine "honey I am going to replace the tires but first I need to fly to Thailand to make sure which ones to pick."
ОтветитьBuy the cheapest, there is no green tyres.
If you buy green tryes from the big brands, the profits are used to subsidize the cheap tyre the big brands produce tomselll cheaply
Bridgestone has its own plantation that was actually burned down by outsiders because they were getting paid workers way to much.
ОтветитьAn interesting documentary.
ОтветитьNice work
ОтветитьDW is kickin @ss . The journalism is old school and seems to stem from on the ground work. Good pairing with visual cues that match the subject. It doesn't seem to be a cookie cutter narration over random photos for effect. I'm writing this from Trumptard Georgia USA...a lane where Faux news and small bit catch phrases are used in the media.
ОтветитьBillon dollar industry where workers in field barely meet their needs of every day life
ОтветитьIt would be nice if documentaries added how much you get in that country for the pay they get. Like I do know that if I would travel there I would be like an millionaire but here at home I'm in the struggling class(all you earn goes to living costs, leaving you a tiny amount left so if you save for 5 years you can travel for 4 weeks in asia, 1 week in Europe)
ОтветитьThe host is a lookalike of Tony Soprano 😂
ОтветитьAwesome documentary. Thank you 🙏🏽
ОтветитьPart of a poor country the world's corrupt rich companies taken advantage the rich stealing of the poor, shocking
ОтветитьIt is better when the cooperative owns the rubber plantation, everyone is working for harvest and semi-processel their raw materials to add value and create more jobs.
ОтветитьVery nice doc. I always try to think of the impact with the things I do.
ОтветитьMan DW really goes to great lengths to bring us these documentaries. Thanks so much
ОтветитьI was driving across a bridge on the I-405 when the tread on one of my retreaded tires came off. When I was able to stop, three of the four plys were showing and the fourth was leaking.
Ответитьthis film so great, explaining catastrophe of humanity and too much exploiting natural for greediness
ОтветитьFactories Owners and the rich fill their bellies with the hungers of poor's.
ОтветитьI think my girlfriend's first boyfriend, pays for the tyres of my current vehicle , good question , god bless his soul , I need a new tyres , now I'm worried , am I the second boyfriend ?
ОтветитьI pay. I pay for my tyres.
ОтветитьCares about "sustainability" and then takes a plane halfway around the world. Yep.
ОтветитьGerman companies and Japaneses talk big about Chinese ethics and how its treat people but these fuckers literally looting people all over the world without any shame.
Ответитьwhat are you wondering, those are the rules of capitalism. I know it's off topic, but let me mention a much closer example to you, the famous Bosch factory in Europe, one of many in Europe..A person close to me works a whole month for 400-500 eur in their factory ,the number of working hours is huge, do the math, 5 first shifts then one day off, 5 second shifts then one day off, 5 third shifts (5 third night shifts - omg) and only then two days off, but you actually sleep through that one when you come back from the third shift, so in fact you still only have one day off.I can't lie, the other working conditions are correct, temperature, cleanliness, canteen, superiors, all of that is serious and correct, but again, it's a lot of hours a week for very little pay, so you get the impression of a bit of slave labor in some "third-class" country. And all this happens in the heart of Europe, in a world-famous German factory, I can imagine what the working conditions are "a little further away".
ОтветитьGood work. Only God can repay your commitment to truth. Only God can judge these criminals.
ОтветитьThough with a good economy, Thailand really should take some solid actions to narrow the gap between their rich and poor
ОтветитьThe fact that I, at the age of 23, was aware that "rubber" was a natural product, rather than synthetic. Other than that, great documentary, it was really insightfull.
ОтветитьCompare how happily they drove for the family Vacation with the family that was extracting the Latex at the cost of loosing their ancestral land where they grew their food grains. All the European countries should be banned from exporting latex from South Asian countries.
ОтветитьGreat piece of reporting. Thank you!
ОтветитьThis is also wasteful. Tires to be made out of plastic like they’re doing overseas. America is so far behind the times we don’t need rubber. On the scale that is being produced. Everything that we have in America and that is in the ocean that is plastic could be recycled into tires. Goodyear got a law passed against import or manufacture of plastic tires in the United States. anybody see the irony here.
Ответитьjournalism thease days
The conclusion is allready reached and the narrative set before the filming even starts
what if we “the 3rd world country” who works on the upperstream industry is the reason why most people could afford a lambo 😢 but we couldn’t even afford trucks/proper car for ourselves😢
ОтветитьGreat documentary! I wonder how many workers become allergic to latex 🤔
The percentage of people who develop this allergy is around 5% in the US but I bet it’s higher in Asia where most of the plantations are located.
I didn’t even know that allergy existed until 3 years ago and now my symptoms are severe 😞
It started with a skin rash on my hands when I’d wear rubber gloves to wash the dishes, and then hives on my upper body from elastics in clothing. It was very puzzling at first as I had never heard of that allergy. Then one day we bought a mattress made with latex foam…big mistake!! This daily exposure worsened my allergy and I had difficulty breathing, nausea…it took me a while to understand what was happening.
This is a progressive allergy, with a cumulative effect like bee stings, so every exposure can worsen your symptoms overnight with no warning. That’s what happened to me, and this has turned my life upside down. I wish there was more information about this allergy because once you have it it’s for life and there’s no treatment. Prevention is key!!
Now it’s too late for me but I’m trying to raise awareness so that people understand the risks of being exposed to latex.
Nowadays my allergy is severe, so if I touch a rubberband or a latex glove I have an immediate anaphylactic reaction and it’s terrifying. My blood pressure drops, my heart beats very fast and my throat swells shut. I have to carry an epipen wherever I go just in case I run into a balloon or something else made of latex.
I wish people were more careful around natural latex in order to keep exposure to a minimum.
As for synthetic rubbers they’re another kind of problem, either because they’re petroleum based or because they contain toxic additives. Basically natural rubber and synthetic rubber are both dangerous, but for different reasons!
...How is it not obligatory yet in all countries to buy retreaded tires where available??!
ОтветитьAll Stores 900,000 Please Lower the price of all Brands of Military Equipment and Local for All Brands of Rubber Products and Production Cost Now 900,000 That's Too Much $$ 900,000 Now The Whole World 900,000 Now 🙏 🤲 🕍 🕌 ⛪ 🛕
ОтветитьThey are giving work to people, how terrible!
ОтветитьThe amount of exploitation is incredible, and every is singing the same song. Sad
ОтветитьI feel like in the past, retread was geared toward cost saving and maybe that's where it got its reputation. But if your goal is sustainability, you can use better processes that make equivalent tires. Sort of like putting new soles on a shoe.
ОтветитьThe USA has to be one of the main countries who took their properties away. They did it before will do it again
ОтветитьHEAVENS THANK GOD I HAVE ONE OF THERE MILITARY PERSONELL IN CUSTODY HERE, LOUD PROFANE LEWD MOUF SHE HAD NOTHING I HELPED HER GRADUATE FROM 2 MAJOR UNIVERSITIES UNDER MY FREEDOM WATCH SHE HAS PAPER , A PAPER TO SAY IM THIS PERSON ON PAPER TRAINED I CANT HELP NOMORE BRAIN MIND TRAINING PRIOR TO MEETING ME SHE HAD NO DEGREES SHE HAD NO HOME SHE HAD NO MILITARY PENSION NO SOCIAL SECURITY PENSION I WENT REALLY HARD HELPING HER AND NEGLECTED MY OWN LIFE , SOMETIMES ITS NOT GOOD TO BE NICE I CANT PROGRAM NOMORE BRAINS AFRICAN AMERICAN AND STOP RUNNING UP AROUND ME @ STORES TO PROOVE YOU CAN ATTACK I WONT FORGET YOU RUNNING UP AROUND IN STORES LOOKING BUT NOT BUYING AS SECURITY THREAT
ОтветитьAnd they tell you to ditch your tires at 5 years regardless of tread wear . So but a retread is ok on a over 5 year tire ??
What about sidewall and sidewall-age ???
Something fishy here -
🤔🤔🤔
Glad you pointed out these problems. Maybe you should spend some money and open a rubber farm of your own and you could control how your workers are treated? Oh, you don’t want to spend your own money. Got it.
ОтветитьWow, 5,000 bhat a month is only $134 USD. We're fortunate here in the US.
ОтветитьI say the government is more dirty than the people who want to do business.
ОтветитьONE DAY THE TIRES WILL BE ALMOST PHASED OUT BECAUSE OF NEW TECHNOLOGIES
ОтветитьI would love to be able to buy retreads here in Ireland. Back in South Africa, we always bought retreads, and they were perfect
ОтветитьGod damn even worse than slaveri stealing too
ОтветитьSlaveri never stop
Ответить
