ОтветитьThe bamboo that bends is stronger than the oak that resists
This cryptic statement is often interpreted as a metaphor conveying the idea that flexibility and adaptability are strengths that surpass rigidity and resistance. In this context, "the bamboo that bends" symbolizes someone or something that can adapt to changing circumstances, challenges, or pressures without breaking. On the other hand, "the oak that resists" represents someone or something that remains rigid and unyielding in the face of challenges, which may ultimately lead to a breaking point. The essence of the message is that resilience and the ability to adapt to changing situations can be more effective and enduring than stubbornly resisting change. It's a philosophical perspective emphasizing the strength found in flexibility and adaptability.
You should be able to order your breakfasts and dinners to have in the privacy of your own room. When I was young we used to go have a soak before dinner as a family, then come back up to our rooms to find dinner waiting for us. Ryokans are the best and I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay in one. Glad you practiced some Japanese :)x
