"GameFi" and blockchain "Gaming Guilds" are just a clever re-branding of what used to be called "Real World Trading Gold Farmeing". The difference is these new blockchain games were designed specifically to rely on this corrupt relationship.

Its just 3rd world players grinding away for 40-80 hours per week at dull, mindless, unfun parts of a game to provide the rewards to some wealthier gamer, with these "gaming guilds" as the broker taking a massive cut.

This whole concept: the predatory design of these games; the sweatshop-like rules put on the impoverished token farmer; and the fact that the only wealth is generated by the expectation that these in-game NFTs and tokens will keep appreciating for no real reason other than FOMO (if that sounds like a Ponzi scheme to you, guve that man a cigar!) is disgusting.

Years ago gaming companies sued these guys. But these guys just went out and created their own games designed100% about first world capital exploiting third world laborers.

This is the 180-degree opposite of what most decent people had hoped would come out of cryptocurrency and blockchain.
