Damn this is so much easier with upgrades 😅. I did this w/ 2 nail upgrades, without wraiths (and so without shriek) and without shade cloack and my god is it harder... it took me like 40 tries and i think my last try took like 15mins

Without any guides I did it with my own strat, beating eat my head still hurts.....

Soul Catcher is the worse charm in the game, no? He gives only 3 more souls then the common, witch is a very little difference

in control it is extremely complicated to use charged attacks

Btw you can’t have a pure nail until you beat this

In future can we not showcase abilities people dont have yet? You need to defeat hornet sentinel in order to get the shade cloak and a lot of people try to upgrade their nail first. Ruins the fun of exploration

do the lower nail upgrades make the great slash worse

This guide made me realize how weak I am for this. Those red armoured flying bugs take 5 hits for me to kill. Clearly I am missing something lol

This is a really bad guide. You should have started a new save file.
#1) You have more HP than anyone looking for a guide.
#2) You are 1 shooting enemies, nobody needing a guide has a maxed out nail

The FACT that you are taking damage proves that this is a mostly RNG LUCK based fight for those without gear/items. Skill does improve your odds, but there are just some runs where you die for reasons unrelated to player mistakes. It's very frustrating when you are doing this for the first time. I have to do over 15 hits per kill, while you kill them in 3-5 hits. The difference in difficulty is huge. Obviously, I need the ore to upgrade my nail.

My best run made it to the last 2 big balloons. I killed one fast, and died to the enrage. I obviously didn't know about the enrage. I came here to check how close I was to clearing it. Obviously, kill them both at the same pace; but I was wondering about after that fight. Since it takes so long to get a run without bad RNG.

Yeah it's super easy with end game charms and fully upgraded nail... 🤦‍♂️

Took me a few tries, but here’s what I did:
Charms:
-Defender’s Crest for AOE
-Weaversong to cheese the big hopper thing
-Quick Focus for Quick healing
-Unbreakable Strength for extra strength. It’s expensive, but trust me you’ll need it
-Steady Body: this is essential for when you’re on the platforms with spikes beneath you

at the beginning he says “probably dont have the pure nail”
you need to beat this to get it

So basically just don’t until you have better gear…

how do i enter trial of conqueror? i beat the first already

My husband and I got the first one finally done. Took us two sit down playing days. And now trying the second. It is good to see what is to come and what types of charms we are missing out on. I Reallly Need the monarch wings. For a few things.

And considering my husband was the one who finished the first one I need to practice the first one till I can beat it. Funny enough I coached him through it all though. Reminding him when to heal and how to hit the enemies. Haha!

Finally won with defenders crest and dream shield cause they kill a lot of the annoying smaller flying bugs. And also mark of pride and grubsong.

I tried this about three or four tries and on the last one I almost won but because of the last one of those guys I died, I did this about some minutes ago and gave up.

my problems is that my PC is old and unreliable and when I am holding a great slash my jump isn't very responsive and i can't do much.

I found an easier way to do it: here are the charms longnail, quick slash, nail masters glory, thorns, spore shroom and grimchild or weavers song

I have over 4 hours on this fight and i always die on the last enemy. The fat balloon guy. I am dieing inside.

the part where u have no platform to stand on is dang hard

Tips for people who stink at video games like me:
With regards to charms, I like to go with an offensive "I'm gonna get hit a lot so might as well own it" build. Shaman's Stone, Grubsong, Thorns of Agony, Quick Slash, and Soul Catcher. Shaman's Stone, Thorns of Agony and Quick Slash help me do more damage, and Grubsong and Soul Catcher make it so I almost always have enough Soul to heal. Some people go with a passive build but I just think that if I let my weaverlings do all the heavy lifting I'll never get better.
-In the stage where there's a Heavy Fool and a Winged Fool, I've found pogoing the winged one and then desolate diving does quite a bit.
-Wait for squits and gruzzlers to come to you, I got more hurt trying to get to them than I did just getting hit.
-The second aspid won't notice you if you stick to the left side of the arena. Take advantage of that, last thing you want to deal with is an aspid making things more difficult.
-In the stage with the hoppers you can just stand in the right corner and spam your nail
-Start charging a Nail Art the second you break the grub jar. If you time it right you can kill it in one shot.
-Find appropriate times to gather Soul and heal. For me, in the gruzzler part I could just stand in the top left platform and recover, the hopper part was always useful to have a full Soul gauge for the larger hoppers, and in just any part with a slow enemy I could move to the other side of the arena and heal.
-Most importantly, trust in your abilities! Remember you're getting better with every try. You got this!
