A Legit UE5 Tarkov Competitor?

UE5 makes all that foliage look damn pretty!

If it doesn't have the attention to detail with ammo and all the real names of guns and gear I'm not playing it. I don't care if the game is better I want it to be realistic with real items that exist in the real world. Also Unreal Engine 5 has shown to run extremely poorly if its features are used.

Wow I completely forgot Unreal Engine 5 means it's a new game meaning my PC can't run it. I have a GTX 1070 and I can run Tarkov in 1440p quite well. PC hardware is so insanely expensive now and I don't see myself upgrading for a game.

No game needs a competitor as much as Tarkov does... If this game has looting anything like Tarkov does, it is a perfect example to show how lazy BSG has been for years now!

Be pretty exciting if battlefield 6 looked like this, same setting etc. Maybe hold back on the realism but you get what I mean

I don't want to be negative but what's the point, doesn't look like they're doing anything that different from Tarkov and the attention to detail doesn't look as good imo. The problem with all these Tarkov likes is they keep straight copying Tarkov instead of pulling from games like Stalker which is what makes Tarkov so good, all the homage to Stalker that's improved upon.
This game kinda looks like Ready or Not or Ground Branch, like too mil sim that it gets boring quickly. The gunplay in Tarkov is pretty unmatched, yeah the recoil is weird and stuff but the sounds, look and feel of weapons are so damn good. Maybe this will be fine but by the time it's actually ready who is going to care?

Tarkovnis one of the games that needs comppetitors the most but some of this features are a direct copy from Tarkov. The inventory system......pffff. Cpntrol C + control V with zero shame....

im done with battle royale, we need game like squad with better graphics (unreal engine 5)

if they pull this off, it isnt tarkov competitor but killer because it is not forced to be PVP arena (full of cheating scum) but actual immersive experience

I hope this does good. Because Tarkov is so boring and has as you said. the Same gameplay loop for last 7 years. all veterans know where players spawn, they know where scavs and bosses are gonna spawn. So everything becomes predictable, and the same. The same places are always rushed every round. And again the Bosses and Scavs are in the same place every single time. If they actually had Random Gangs / AI enemy groups that patrol in random places the gameplay would be much different. Also Tarkov has incredibly bad designed boring grind quest. for certain gear which should be something you can just buy or find in raid after you spend X amount of money on a trader. I also hope the sound in this game is much better than tarkov which has pretty bad sound tbh. The stomps sound loud like your character is a robot not a human. and the fact that aiming down your gun is louder than foot steps in certain areas is just another example of bad sound.

Havent had a new good release in years. I have no more faith. I hope this game proves me wrong.

You guys think it must be easy to refine the game mechanics to have inventory system, crafting, movement, customization, gun parts, balance, Meds effects, AI, pathing, map design like Tarkov.
Nice couple of UI show off on a trailer ALL THE SUDDEN that's a Tarkov competitor...jesus christ...this is same kind of people that complain nonstop about BSG because they think a game like Tarkov can be made over night on Unity.

It's actually 100x more easier to make a Call of Duty clone on Unity.

At this point I’m just dying for anything like Tarkov that is not Tarkov. It feels like eft is in a state where they don’t care what they do with their game because people continue spending $200 dollars for a copy. I would spend a good amount of money to see a good extract milsim game which is NOT eft. Thanks for making this video man, didn’t know about this game.

how is the extraction shooter genre crowded? every single extraction game has either flopped or failed to impress the market

Going to enjoy the game's trailer gets downgraded in graphics like most games when they want hype. What they are showing may end up be twice as long que times than tarkov

Just from a glance there are 2 things that this game needs to match tarkovs immersion:
-The guns feel too stiff in your hands, there should be more of a natural sway(not much but enough to feel like your body is actually moving independently from your head)
-The camera should not snap around when you reload/use items , if the game has freelook I would much rather manually do things like this in game(I know its a little thing but having camera control automated is a really annoying feeling)

I hope the depth of field is something we can adjust as well it just doesnt look good in games imo

Id be very suprised if this succeeds. considering its ue5 it looks incredibly clunky.. Also something seems off with the vision, couldn't see anything regarding shoulder peaks either.. I have more hope for heartland tbh.

since all they done before is mostly mobile games, and since it is a somewhat large studio, I hope I'm wrong, but I fear it will fall in the p2w category.

Really hope this game can offer Co-op PVE with mod support. It would just about be my dream game at that point.

IMO the gunplay mechanics in this game look awful. Tarkov won't be challenged by other games in this genre unless these games pick it up mechanically. That's one of Tarkov's biggest draws is its gameplay mechanics, how the gunplay is, the movement, etc. Also is the fact that people won't be interested in a lesser adjacent. Why play an almost but not as good EFT when you can just play EFT? They need SOMETHING to separate themselves from what already exists in a way that isn't gimmicky or just being like free to play. It's a tough space to fill. As it stands, although this game looks nice being in UE5, I don't see a single thing here that would convert me from EFT to this game.

Nothing wrong with comparing a (true) extraction game to Tarkov, as you said its the Gold Standard in this space. I think a cross over of Tarkov's depth/feel and The Cycle's world/server system is the Ultimate extraction style game that a lot of us have been wanting. Hope they can pull it off...Wishlisted!

Answer is. No. Can say every game that legit shows a trailer now is the "COD" or "Tarkov" killer...and yet here we are years and years later with trailers and concepts, but nothing has come close. It's to the point where any company that releases a game trailer is going to be the "next" big thing...and every...single one...has disappointed. Every. Single. One.

Yet I am still hopeful.

As a half Laotian person im glad to have a game based in a fictional version of Laos and even happier to see a potential competitor for tarkov. Hopefully it'll give BSG the boot they need up the a$$.

Why can’t anyone make the Aimpoint T1 work in game? Tarkov’s take on it is trash but this is beyond trash. It’s like looking through a key hole. Latest COD’s nailed most optics. I don’t understand why others can’t simply copy what they did.

anti-cheat (in theory) is a really simple fix. just put all the people with a "trusted" steam account (one thats been vetted for years/multiple games) in the same lobbies. a brand new steam account, oh, your going with the other new accounts. if cheaters wanna cheat, let them cheat with each other. but i dont (personally) know anyone who would be willing to get their main steam account banned or have a ban linked to their steam account in general. its ALMOST always throw away accounts that people dont care about that they cheat on. e

I never buying an early access game again I’d rather just wait for the 1.0 release and focus on single player games Ready or not is the game that showed me why waiting for 1.0 is the best thing to do
