I love the orc commander saying "stay where you are." It's not just because he absolutely does not the value the lives of his soldiers at all, but also because he knows that there's an intimidation factor for the humans, seeing the orcs just standing there ready to be crushed by the incoming rocks. It makes them seem unfeeling, uncaring, unshakeable

Interesting that there's a few distance shots where you see wargs right at the front of the orc army, yet I think in any of the more close up scenes they're pretty much never shown at all.

Although the success is short-lived, it still buzzes me watching the city's defence at work, all those catapults on each level.

In the books Gondor's soldiers were battle hardened veterans. They didn't run around in fear. They stood their ground and BUTCHERED Sauron's forces. When the surviving orcs and easterlings returned home, they only spoke of Gondor's wrath and fury.

Long story short - Don't mess with Gondor.

There's just something about the visuals of this that feels like a painting constantly. Kind of grainy, shiny, such a pleasure to view and utterly magnificent. Then you throw in EVERYTHING ELSE. The story and stakes, characters involved, music, etc etc. and you have a a masterpiece.

Imagine a Minecraft mod that replicates this battle
