I installed the hansshow version A yesterday in my 2021 sr+ (activate the 4 speakers in the front, there comes a subwoofer + receiver in the back, and you get the missing two back speakers as well, allthough i didn't install those yet, because i have to drill some holes in the back as the 2021 model has no provision for rear speakers anymore...) and now it sounds already pretty premium!!
ОтветитьThey sound even better when it’s night! Speakers always sound way better during the night for some reason ha, guess the lack of traffic
ОтветитьReally interested in the cabin noise measurements. Have you tested any traditional ICE vehicles as a comparison?
ОтветитьGood review.I currently drive a 2012 VW Jetta with the Fender (Panasonic) stereo system. It is the best audio I have heard in an ICE vehicle. Much better (IMO) than my son's Bose in his 2022 Maxda CR-9. I'm especially looking forward to the lower ambient noise in an EV. As any audiophile knows the silent background is essential to clean audio.
ОтветитьThe SR audio will only feel notable if you happen to come from the A8/S-class/7 series rank of cars in my experience. And even then, it required a “careful listening session” to clearly point out which parts were lacking.
It’s plenty good enough for on road use and I don’t have any complains against it in my SR+ model 3. Sure my Audi’s Bang and Olufsen system is better but the audio package costs a solid couple grand on top of the base car. The Model 3 comes with it default or with a drive train upgrade.
I just came here to figure out how to adjust the bass and treble and this guy is giving a phD dissertation. LOL
ОтветитьMy Kia niro EV came with “premium sound” which did sound great and even heard an ev6 and it was about as good. But the base model Tesla I test drove and the one I bought (base model) were a noticeable upgrade.
The sound is still impressive in the base model. I’m sure more speakers sound better but the audio experience is still a cut above other manufacturers.
Hey Guys, to stay simple is it loud??? I JUST need some Massive Stunning Dezibels when going to the gym hope it provides this even if the quality takes a shortcut during this process 😂🥲😊
ОтветитьAppreciate dedicated audio reviews, very informative. Though I found cabin noise(especially 62 dbA) on this model 3 is not quite convincible, based on my experience and many others saying.
ОтветитьOff topic, but I noticed you wearing jeans in your video. Does it leave any residue on your white seats?
ОтветитьCan you use a gas car battery and add subwoofer?
ОтветитьBig help...thanks
ОтветитьGreat sound system I’m the SR+ I had the Kia EV6 and sound was ok, so I traded the Kia in for the model 3 and the difference in the sound
ОтветитьFantastic review. You were very thorough and the detailed explanations are appreciated.
ОтветитьHonestly... compared to my Yaris from 2011, I bet this sounds leagues better...
ОтветитьThanks for this review, very useful. I currently have a BMW i3 with the HK premium sound system, it is OK, but does not amaze me. I find the upper midrange quite ‘hard’, noticeable on female vocalists, and the overall sound is hard/harsh particularly when pushed, despite the twin subs in the front foot wells, the bass is not very tight or controlled and is a bit weak. Have you tried the i3 sound system? Do you think the M3 SR+ might be better, even without the subwoofer? One last thought, I assume the Tesla supports DAB reception, though it doesn’t get mentioned in reviews, is this correct?
ОтветитьI have sr+, the bass suffers greatly at highway cruising speed due to the higher noise level. I don’t know if LR handles that better with the subwoofer
ОтветитьI have owned both the Model 3 SR+ and LR and I found the differences in audio quality, while definitely there, to be quantitative. The sound is "bigger" in the LR but the overall quality of sound reproduction is not all that much different, if at all. I listen mostly to FLAC files and WAV files ripped from CD's. I agree with the Paul Evans comment. The interface needs an upgrade.
ОтветитьWould be good if Tesla at least offered the ability to enable those three extra speakers on the base Model 3 through software for a small fee
ОтветитьLove the sound on the Long Range version. But I haven’t heard the SR+ to compare it. Btw are you driving a EU Tesla in UK? I’ve noticed the steering wheel on the correct side 😂
ОтветитьThe Tesla sound is fantastic but the interface is pretty awful. Pause and resume between sources? Change sources at the touch of a button? It's baffling!
ОтветитьThe harmon kardon system on the Volvo XC40 is excellent and one of the best on the market, pity Tesla dont provide for an upgrade given that are fitting inactive speakers on the SR+ now the model 3 RWD
ОтветитьThe Tesla long range audio system is one of the best I’ve ever heard in a car. I gave is a good workout during my 24hr test drive with all kinds of music. The acoustic glass and lack of engine noise makes a huge difference in audio quality. I ordered a Model 3 after the test drive.
ОтветитьAvoid audio system is always a plus. I like the two I have in a couple of cars. 'Good to hear the car can go high speed and one can listen to excellent music.
Laughter is great. Thank you
Thank you for making car audio reviews. Any chance of Kia EV6 audio reviews? (Both premium and regular) It would be lovely.
ОтветитьThank you for doing this sound system review. Really helps
