ОтветитьHow well does ju jitsu work in the real world when opponent isn’t wearing clothes to grab? It works well when sparring with others in gees, and competition. Not disrespecting the style.
ОтветитьRoger teaches the best Ju Jitsu brought over from Japan and has no problem relabeling it as Brazilian as he and the Gracie family have no class or shame.
ОтветитьThis guy was on the ground the whole video and he wants us to believe hes good? come on man you can do better than this
ОтветитьWe can’t keep call it “basic“, amazing details!
ОтветитьGrab the sleeve of your opponent with your opposite hand. Use your other hand to grab the back of your opponent's collar. Control the distance between you and your opponent with your hips. Ask Siri to call Pizza Pizza, so you can order lunch. Don't be a jerk, order extra for your opponent.
Ответитьamazing ! the best video ever
ОтветитьDumb question….can you use his toes to open his guard??
ОтветитьNoticing the ‘conade’ and ‘fnbjj’ banners on the wall. I’m assuming then that this was in Mexico 🇲🇽
ОтветитьGreat! Love the detail on armbar from closed gaurd
ОтветитьI don't want to lose my Life. I hope BJJ helps us.
ОтветитьI love this, really. But in a real life situation, I would never use closed guard. Maybe some very pro people in MMA (Charles, maybe even Khabib etc) can use elbows etc to fight in closed guard, but the person is just going to beat the shit out of me, so I usually do a sweep at classes (doing BJJ for 4 years now), so if I get into a real life situation, I am also used to that.
ОтветитьJedi class.
ОтветитьAwesome
ОтветитьHe’s forgetting the ball punch. 😂😂😂
ОтветитьI've been training for almost 5 years and these small details makes Roger Gracie the 🐐
ОтветитьI can’t believe this is free on the Internet. This is a gem
ОтветитьVery very educational !!!!
ОтветитьCan't the person on the other end of the close guard puts their hands to the side of the legs and stand up in like a sumo squat way?
Ответитьi had to watch this 10X to really understand it. Such mastery
ОтветитьDoes anyone know if roger has ever rolled with rickson ?
Ответитьyou should teach no gi as well roger would be awesome
ОтветитьAmazing 👏 👏 👏
ОтветитьI low-key don't really like gi training.
Ответитьvery good explanation of very principled techniques. I am impressed, as I had no idea he was such a good teacher.
ОтветитьBrilliant.
ОтветитьThis guy has no idea what he’s taking about. Probably doesn’t even know jewjetsue
ОтветитьThanks
Ответитьthe most difficult part is refining those techniques, especially in the heat of the spar
ОтветитьI'm a beginner, but today, watching this video I understood how offensive can the close guard be. Just a couple of hours latter I applied the controlling techniques at class and it was amazing. Thank you!
ОтветитьTake him on any day
ОтветитьUseless
ОтветитьThat was 🔥 🔥!
ОтветитьExceptional. His recent seminar in Florida demonstrated his superb understanding of the fundamentals and the ability to teach.
ОтветитьMy notes (if it's helpful to anyone else)...
From the top in guard: The only place to grab is in the middle near the solar plexus. If you grab too high, you are vulnerable to attacks like armbar and chokes. If you are too low, you can't resist when he pulls you down. If your opponent grabs your cross collar over your grip, let go and start again. If you are not bigger than your opponent, the only way to pass your opponent's legs is if you stand up. You won't pass on your knees. To defend, you need to keep posture and space. You can't stand up without your stiff arm in center of his chest.
From bottom: Be confident that you are safe. All your opponent can do is escape. Don't let him stand up and don't open your guard for him until you are ready to attack or sweep. Protect your solar plexus between your chest, but if he grabs it, cross grab the collar over it and bend his arm so that he no longer can stand. If he lets go and puts his arm over again, fight hands and don't give him the grip. If he tries to stand with your arm on top, pull him down and bring your knees to your chest. Only pull him down when he takes his second step.
Arm lock secrets: normally, you grip his one arm with both your hands (wrist and elbow). Once your foot goes on that same side hip, he knows you're going to armbar him and he leans back which defends well. To avoid this, cross grab his wrist with your elbow high pointing backwards. With your other hand, reach up and cross grab his collar behind his neck with your fingers in palm up. This neck collar grab keeps him from pulling back. Now you can triangle your legs and work up to the armbar. For this setup, one of your legs goes over the shoulder of the wrist you have. Once you start setting this up, An experienced guy, knowing he cannot pull away and make posture, will lean forward to put pressure but you just readjust grips and push him away, get the angle and then put your leg over his head for the armbar.
Thank you!
ОтветитьI need longer legs.
ОтветитьI've only been training for 2 weeks. Newbie here but wow his explanation of closed guard as one sided makes a lot of sense. Great video.
Ответить🤓👏👏👏
ОтветитьReally enjoyed your video. I'm thinking maybe you focus on adult students. The few gyms I've been to lacked the calmness and deliberateness you maintained here. They all have been loud, tumultuous classes, with aggressive drive, and hasty demonstration.
ОтветитьSo smooth and technical.
ОтветитьThis guy is a Genius, No wounder he is World Champion , very impressive !
ОтветитьIncredible
ОтветитьGood teaching thank you
Ответить17 men watching and I bet non of them are wondering how gay this position would be if they weren't dressed. Or how relaxed they each seem to be in this position for 10 minutes rocking slowly back and forth
ОтветитьHow can you do all that if someone is punching you in the face.
Ответитьgreat instruction!
ОтветитьWhat an amazing amount of information. I'm barely a white belt... Gotta get into jits
ОтветитьExcellent
ОтветитьEzekele choke when you're in full guard... does work, to reasonable level.. Not Roger!!! No chance. But that's a move that works I full guard 100
