Maybe it's just me, but I would have taken evasive maneuvers.

The Golden days of ILM is correct! Industrial Light and Magic, Jim Henson Productions, and Stan Winston. Never again will there be the like of these. Special Effects Wizards.

I applauded when the bird of prey exploded in the theater in 1991.

This is a great battle, the only mistake they made imo is not having the enterprise at least try to take a few pot shots in the various directions of where the bird of prey's torpedoes originated from.....especially when we see Uhura trying to locate where Chang's coms transmissions were coming from. With her help and using a visual gauge they should have came close but just missed and Chang could remark how Kirk is such a great warrior or something....... It should not have taken until Nemesis till a starship is able to dumb fire at a cloaked vessel.

Ahhh, the Bird of Prey that put on such an impressive display that every single one constructed afterwards by the Klingon Defense Force was designed to blow up in exactly the same manner.

I miss these times. Before the Left ruined escapism.

The way Excelsior was shaking, Sulu desperately pushing the ship way beyond maximum warp to reach his friends in time. It was a moment that hit for me.

The Battle of Khitomer and the Battle of the Mutara Nebula are among the best battles in all of Star Trek. The Battle of Wolf 359 and the Dominion Assault on the Alpha Quadrant are right there too.

After The Voyage Home which in my opinion, the "Voyage Home" movie sequel was a nice hokey family fun heart warming "save the whales" "environmental save the planet" meme movie story script for the audience enjoyment, but as a Star Trek mission script, it was terrible, and after The Final Frontier disaster, "The Undiscovered Country" of the Star Trek Enterprise crew, Star Trek returned back to it's core mission which is what it's supposed to be about, about facing reality truth about your enemies, as well as about your perceived friends.

4 HITS AND THE BIRD OF PREY IS DESTROYED, MEANWHILE THE ENTERPRISE GOT HIT MORE AND GOT ALLOT LESS DAMAGED.

I'm glad they programmed that torpedo not to circle back to Enterprise.

This battle is relatively minimal in terms of special effects and yet it is one of the tensest, most well-done battle scenes in all of Trek. Amazing.

After this Kirk should have reapplied for his Rear Admiral position

You know what would really help this entire scene? 10,000 shuttlecraft and lens flares....

God I miss Star Trek, and god damn you Alex Klutzman.

One thing I never understood …starfleet knew about and studied cloaking technology for years but noone thought of the exhaust/ burnt gases thing until this moment?!
