Baldurs gate is not a new standard in gaming it’s just a huge project that took years to make. On paper it’s prob a bigger artistic marvel than Spider-Man but Spider-Man 2 was way more fun. Yuri Lowenthal did a way better job than Neil but it’s whatever. Personally my favorite game of the year was Jedi survivor

I don’t even understand how this is an argument anyone could even try to debate, Spiderman 2 is just a large dlc for the first game, who tf wanted to play another swing around nyc and collect a bunch of bs to 100% it, there’s no secrets, no branching stories, and essentially no stakes in the game at all

Easy baldur's gate 3 has multiple ways to play for a different experience wherever and on top of that multi player along with 6/5 different premade characters and Spider-Man 2 is sitting in my external hard drive until theres a story based dlc lol, haven't played baldur's gate 3 yet lol

Spiderman is a fun 10 hour ride by BG3 is hundreds of hours if entertainment and story.

My friends played BG3 first and was obsessing over Astarion. I always said in my head, god wouldn’t be me when I play.
After 5 minutes of talking/traveling with Astarion, no one else is allowed to romance him now besides me 😂 I’m obsessed now

It's pretty clear to me that all the crying Spiderman fanboys haven't actually played BG3. What BG3 did should be hailed as an achievement not seen in some time. It's a game that makes it literally difficult to play other narrative-driven RPGs afterward. NPCs just feel so incredibly bland in other games after it, the animations and vocals completely disconnected and uncanny valley. Spiderman is just a good game. PS fanboys are probably the worst of all the console war cavemen. Their only battlecry is to bitch about it being turn-based, no joke. Cry more, play the game and see for yourself why BG3 deserves the crown, not only for being one of the best games ever made, but proving we deserve better from AAA.

not to mention he was responsible for a lot of the mocap. not just for astarion, but for others as well. he even did mocap for the animations the characters can do when you pick their class on the creation screen. it's wild.

My only thing is, if you liked the game and you think its the best game than why should it matter if others don't feel the same, why does it need to be verified that a game os good, it won't take away the fun and love you have for the game

Bg3 is my first larian game and i love it! I do love fantasy games, so that certainly swayed me. (witcher, elder scrolls, dragon age, just to name a few) spiderman is my favourite superhero, but the games look flashy but boring to me. Theres so much i missed on my first playthrough of bg3 (which i haven't finished- almost) and actually knowing how a lot of things work now, it feels so different. I've already sunk 101 hours into bg3.

The only way a spider Man 2 fan can even justify the take that Baldur's gate 3 is worse than or robbed sm2 is by saying that the combat is worse and the only reason they say that is because its turn based

spiderman 2 is a 70 dollar game that sacrifices quantity for quality. Baldurs Gate 3 is a 60 dollar game that sacrifices neither of those things and pulls off both of them. End of story.

I think TOTK should have been the winner. I also think that how fun the game is should effect the vote more then it does.

I know its a such a small thing that doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of the video but (what was said in the intro about pay to win) Genshin isn't pay to win. There isn't anything to win. All content can be reached and completed without spending a dime. Is it one of the most well known gacha? Sure. But it is by no means pay to win, especially compared to other games in the category.

I enjoyed Spider-man 2 but Baldur’s gate was hands down game of the year. I wasn’t even going to buy Baldur’s gate, I bought the game on a whim out of boredom and I’m so glad that I did.
I’m on my 5th play through now, where as with Spider-man I haven’t touched it since I finished it.

I’m not hating on Spidy, i love both him as a character and what insomniac did with him, but as a video game Bg3 is on an whole other level entirely.
Said that, feel free to disagree with me, to each their own.

BG3 could have probably won th next 4-5 goty anyway had it been released in the future, the quality and quantity of the content is so incredible, but i can understand the different opinions of players who don't like the genre and prefer action games.
