Mine runs but the head piece drops down, in the forward part. Something, like a screw/bolt, is missing. Any idea what part?
ОтветитьMy machine is 43 years old and operates flawlessly. Has been used a lot, am a retired Chef.
ОтветитьWhat kind of grease do you use?
ОтветитьAwesome. I have my grandmother's mixer from 1978. Your video may help me out!
ОтветитьWhere do I get grease?
ОтветитьGlen thank you I have 2 KitchenAid I need doing this
ОтветитьI can see why the K5SS is a much better machine.
ОтветитьHi, I have a tilt head kitchenaid, the pin in the back walks out when I use it can you hel?
ОтветитьThey eat up gears way too often.
ОтветитьWell I tried to do my replacement parts and everything was going well except for two things, one the accessory part that came with the my kit won't fit very well and two once I went to put the housing back on it doesn't fit now so I don't know why.
ОтветитьGreat video! Love how well you explained everything down to the smallest things. Thank you!
ОтветитьHow much did it cost to replace gears?
ОтветитьGlen, we have the same mixer in this video. I have removed the c-ring and when I try to remove the gears on the shaft, there seems to be some scoring on the shaft that is making the gear unable to slide up the shaft. Is that something you see normally and if so, do you get a file or another abrasive to smooth it? Thanks in advance.
ОтветитьCan you please post the link to the parts on Amazon?
ОтветитьAny advice if the top gear on the main shaft i can't get it off
ОтветитьWish I had seen this video when my last 6 qt machine died. At least I’ll know to look up this video if something goes wrong with my new one. Thanks!
ОтветитьGreat tutorial. It helped me fix my wife's favorite mixer. Of course, she still wants to get another one (as a backup, she says).
ОтветитьGreat video thank you but can I have a list of the part
Thank you sir
I'm just wondering where you order your parts from?
ОтветитьRobertsons are excessively popular in Canada...
And that would explain the use of them, in there.
I got fed up with this and replaced with a cuisineart
ОтветитьAny idea why on a Heavy Duty Mixer with Bowl Support that Slides up and down on the Column the Support wiggles (making anoyning click sound) from side to side ?
Is there an adjustment or is it a Part issues. Thanks.
I screwed my adjustment screw on the neck too far and it fell inside. Is there a way to put it back in from the inside? I don’t see a way to access the neck behind the bowl lift spot
ОтветитьIs it possible to replace the gear that comes off the motor? I had the same issue and thought it would be good to replace the drive gear attached to the motor because it had some wear.
ОтветитьEXCELLENT video. Question: I have new "Professional 5 Pro" [never mind the admonition in the manual that the warranty is voided by use other than in a single family home] - how much play is allowable in the planetary ? Mine has a bunch of play, and actually "clunks" when running. Thank you.
ОтветитьKudos to KitchenAid for designing it so one can work on their mixer.
ОтветитьThat looks like regular petroleum-based grease. Why do so many people keep saying to use food grade grease which doesn't last long?
ОтветитьWe’re the parts expensive
ОтветитьMy Pro Mixer worked fine then i plugged it in on Xmas day and it is like there is no power to it even though the outlets are fine. any suggestions as to what could be wrong with it? Thanks Jeanne
ОтветитьI just bought one of these, you say you do it often. Now I'm wondering should the grease replaced yearly or something to preserve the gearbox?
ОтветитьDo you have a video that shows how to remove the little rings above those gears on the shaft? I can't figure out how to use the pliers that came with the gear kit and I can't get those gears out.
ОтветитьI must say even if you do not use that attachment the gear is still being used, and will wear out.
ОтветитьA friend of mine gave up on her mixer and bought a new one. She was going to throw away the old one so I asked her to let me take a look at it first. I really hope this is the issue it's having. Seems like an easy fix for about $60.
ОтветитьI'm more impressed with the newspaper. Where u find that?
ОтветитьYou sir are the best Thank you so much. I destroyed my wife's mixer and was worried I would never see her naked again. Thank you sir.
ОтветитьHi Glen" i have model ksm6573 ccu2 and need to replace the bowl lifter , do you have a video about it please .
ОтветитьI am repairing this model for my daughter in law and have replaced various broken gears easily thanks to your clear video instruction. I am having an issue with the planetary. It gets to one spot and binds up. I have removed and inspected that gear and the one that drives it, both seem fine, but nothing I do resolves that issue. The only other item is that this machine came with identical bearings for the worm gear and so I need to replace one, but I don't think that's what is giving me this issue. Any advice?
ОтветитьThis was exactly what happened to my Pro6. When I took off the transmission housing cover one of the plastic alignment nipples was broken off in the metal housing of the mixer. With 4 screws and one nipple still in place, do I need to spend $50 to replace it? Anyone???
ОтветитьWould love to see a conversion of a kitchen aid mixer to work on a treddle or compressed air. Is it even possible?
ОтветитьHi, I need tô buy triste parte, ehew I can find them? Thanks
ОтветитьHi, have you ever repaired the model 5KPM50EGR, it’s about 15yrs old. Mine one stop working but I couldn’t get the cover off though. Warranty company said too old and they don’t repair that model.
Ответить/sees the cap
"Ah, I see you're a man of culture as well."
It’s fun to see that you are mechanically savvy as well as a good cook! I would have cleaned the mating surface before placing the cover on but I doubt that thick grease will leak. Nicely done!
ОтветитьYou should have use the bearing one. White grease will not be as long-lasting and efficient as bearing grease in terms of impellers and friction temperatures..
Ответитьmy mixer is the pro 5500 i think anyways the lever that picks the bowl is not working do you have a video on how to fix that it looks like the one you just worked on
ОтветитьGlenn!!!! Thank you for the video it was a huge help. Wonderful production and High quality.
ОтветитьHow about the retaining ring place before you can remove the gear, I have it place that locked them in the shaft , I dont know where to get the tool to remove the ring
ОтветитьI aquired a lift bowl like that from GOOD WILL. I Replaced the Bottom Steel Phillips screws with STAINLESS STEEL ALLEN HEAD BOLTS, AS well as FOOD GRADE GREASE !!!! <<<< Super FML - 2 Food Machinery Lubricant >>>>
ОтветитьWhat a world, where the exact video I need is available with a great explanation and in 4K no less. Thanks, this was so helpful in getting my mixer back up and running!
