Where to buy it? I can't find
ОтветитьI considered this model a couple of years ago, but the 6 and 12 disappear at most light angles. I have a black dial SNKL45 with the same issue, but it is slightly better than this model. Unless you’re set on a black dial, I recommend the SNKL41 as the one to get. It’s near perfection for a sub $200 Seiko 5.
ОтветитьWhy then did you dismiss the SMITHS version which is much more accurate, almost identical looking to the original ??? Explain?
Keep your vids consistent please ?
Yesterday I got one of this watch's brothers and arguably the best and most elegant of the OG 5s - the SNK381.
It is the one that has all the numerals (except the 3 o'clock) with the dark, rich black dial.
There are some things to point out about this category of OG 5s, which stands out from the rest due to the case shape (it is case type 7s26-01V0, specific to the SNK and SNKL models), characterized by the thicker and down-curved lugs, which allow it to perfectly hug the wrist, as opposed to SNXS-type cases, which are aptly named "flying saucers".
Now, back to why I believe the SNK381 to be the best SNK of the old "5s":
- the numerals are fully lumed and they last till the morning, better than many pretentious divers and Swiss posh watches;
- the leaf-style hands and reverse-lollipop second hand are also very well lumed and, together with the numerals, provide an absolute spectacle on wrist once the lume is charged.
- the deep black dial, which has an enamel or porcelain quality to it, provides incredible contrast and makes the numerals and hands legible in any lighting conditions.
- the lugs are perfect for any small wrist, they hug the wrist of even the most fragile and elegant lady while, if you put the watch on a leather or Nato strap, it will look at home on larger wrists, too.
As for the stock bracelet being the crappiest ever... it's not.
I've seen worse on many, many Casios, Lorus, even Orients.
It does have folded links, hollow end-liks and the stamped clasp, but so did Rolex decades ago.
As opposed to some Pulsars, Casios or Loruses that I have/had the clasp does feature 3 micro adjustments and the push-buttons are easier to operate.
And adjusting the bracelet is the absolute easiest out of any type of metallic bracelet - all you need is a knife with a sharp tip (I adjusted mine with a small fork) and it is a 2 minute job.
Fixed clasp bracelets that use wedges for adjusting are the easiest to adjust!
i just find a used one but the silver dial variant. Its different but is only for USD60, i am thinking of pulling trigger on that one
ОтветитьCound you tell the brand of the gray strap you put on this one plsss, it dosen't look like any cheap Nato strap I can found online!!!
ОтветитьWent to look for this watch and found a seiko 5 “macsog reissue”! Hopefully it should ship soon.
ОтветитьCreation watches is a valid website? is it original?
ОтветитьSNK381 is a better choice 🙂
ОтветитьHad this watch for about 4 years and not a single hiccup. Only thing I’m thinking about changing is the band, looks quite elegant with a leather strap. 👍
Ответитьi actually like this bracelet.
ОтветитьJust buy the pagani design if you want an rolex explorer alternative. Yes its copy with a different logo. Also the specs are exactly like the Explorer.
Ответитьrolex is overrated, seiko and casio is my way to go. but i do own a Bovet and a Louis Moinet thou. pieces that i wear out only on special occasions
ОтветитьNice I didn't choose this version because I wanted a Ranger look alike 😆
ОтветитьHaha what a dumb comparison 👎
ОтветитьWould you consider this a daily beater?
ОтветитьOnly suckers buy rolexes
ОтветитьNice find! I have an SNK381 that looks like it has the same case, but with fully lumed 1 to 12 numerals and a plain dial - kinda reminds me of a Tudor Ranger variant. It's a super versatile watch, just needs a better movement and a little more water resistance!
ОтветитьI had one with a white dail but it got stolen 😢💔
ОтветитьYes- the day/date ruins the dial- as it does pretty much all dials.
ОтветитьAgreed, nice video
ОтветитьI have 4 of these Seiko 5. Oldest bought in 1979. You don’t need a Rolex to tell time and look good. 😉👌
ОтветитьI have the silver dial version of it and it is amazing, the black dial number markers get lost with the dial they needed more pop
ОтветитьWhat is the exact model number Kieren?
Ответить500th like
ОтветитьOut of stock, duh... 😅
ОтветитьPerfect watch for those on a budget. However I wouldn't buy it if it DIDN'T have a day/date window at the 3 o'clock. Overall a real beauty!
ОтветитьPeople buy the SNKL23
ОтветитьWhy don't you give the models' names in the description? Without the models names, it us very hard to search them.
ОтветитьWhat strap size fits this watch ?
ОтветитьI love it but cannot find this in India 😕😕😞
ОтветитьI have almost the same model, but the one with the entire stainless steel dial. I paid around $200 couple years ago new, but even for that price it really held up well. The bracelet which is the weakest point actually stayed in good condition from all the times I wore it to work. The movement has been suprisingly good, it loses a few minutes after a few weeks but the automatic movement keeps it going unless you take it off for about more then a day which is better then one of my more expensive Seikos. The look if the best part it really looks like a goof affordable Rolex Explorer alternative and for people who don't know about watches and Seiko they have asked me if it is a Rolex from afar.
ОтветитьOh, give me a freaking break! Stop talking out of your butthole.
Ответитьcitizen tsuyosa much better in hand and movement
ОтветитьCool watch
ОтветитьYou can get many better watches with a Seiko NH35/38 from other companies for not that much more money. They are getting killed on finishing and bracelets by just about everything coming from China.
ОтветитьSo I don't need this watch, but am now interested in it with a dressy grey leather strap. I'm so stupid.
ОтветитьIf the 7S26 is a dinosaur, what about the ETA 2824? It's from the 1960s.
ОтветитьWithout the day-date feature, the watch falls short of the Seiko "5" specification.
ОтветитьStrongly agreed !!! Seiko lasts long without maintenance !!!
ОтветитьKool watch… 😎
ОтветитьThe Rolex’s crown 👑 is actually a coronet. If anything should have a “crown” on its dial, it should be Casio or Seiko.🍎🍎 😅
ОтветитьPlease do a review of Tag Heuer Grand Carrera Calibre 36 RS Chrono Watch. It's a very interesting piece that flew under the radar and I am very intrigued by its design and would love to hear your take on this piece, before making a bid for it.
ОтветитьIt would be brilliant with a quartz movement (and 3 + 9 indices like you said). I cannot understand why Seiko has such poor bracelets given that aliexpress is full of far cheaper watches with excellent stainless bracelets. Maybe they should ask Addiesdive and benyar how they do it....
Ответитьi like the bracelet
ОтветитьReally hate everything being compared to a Rolex. Yeah, sure, they invented combining numerals and indicies or whatever. Rolex Explorer and the Omega Speedmaster are two of the most overrated watches in all of whoreology, two average time pieces that watch idiot savants cannot stop pleasuring themselves to.
ОтветитьI like the lume on this watch how are you able to capture it on video so well?
ОтветитьI have this watch, and I am always mesmerized by the details in the dial when I look at it outdoors in the sunlight.
Ответить'Made'? These watches have been around for ages
