Exceptional documentary Milik!

I wasn't a big Whitney fan as a teenager, but thanks to you BMA, you have given me a new appreciation for her craft and vocal talent.

Looking back to her last Australian Tour, I am ashamed of how the media and her "fans" attacked her.

I hope she and her daughter, Bobbi, are resting in peace in Heaven with God, whose praises she sang in Church, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Cissy can hit some beautiful notes, but overall it's just unpleasant. It's so hard to put your finger on, because can hit all the notes, but when your hear the whole song it's horrible.

This video is so precious! It makes me excited for the next one and for possible future ones about Mariah or even maybe Celine (for the sake of the trinity, even tho she is not black and doesn't have a black cultural background). I appreciate the three of them and would love to have the same type of insight on their voices/careers as they sang and performed with different techniques and styles. It would make it so much clear to understand differences and similarities between them and what their strengths were!!
The mezzo/soprano discussion in the video is so exciting, because it's something everyone debates about! I always thought of Whitney as a strong mezzo. Sure she probably was overworked and with drugs and smocking she probably never got to develop her voice to 100%. Still, her golden notes were always C5 and D5, she showed some consistency above that, but she couldn't phrase much higher than that consecutively, hence why her most difficult songs were almost never sang live and on original key. And we kinda got an "explained" on Cissy Houston, too 😅❤

why she had to dance when it damaged vocal performance, when you can`t sing you dance but that was definitely NOT Whitney Houston case there are other people for dancing during the show

As far as I understand it the Star Spangler banner was playback. She actually sang it during the performance it's just her microphone was turned off.

You can see at times that her chin and tongue wobble kick in at the wrong time because her vibrato starts at a different time during the recording Vs her actual singing.

As a long time singer unlearning bad vocal habits, this is so technically informative! I used Whitney and her mother’s techniques to sing a few notes and INSTANTLY heard a difference!

I don't mind when a channel has obvious bias over a singer, but I do take offence when misinformation is being reported as fact. What is a fact is that Whitney did not perform The Star Spangled Banner live, which was confirmed by her then producer, Ricky Minor.

Stadium and TV audiences around the world would actually hear the pre-recorded track when Houston performed at the Super Bowl. As Minor previously revealed to ESPN in 2016, Houston sang into a dead mic while the pre-recorded track played — a move that was done out of sheer necessity.

"There's no way to rehearse the sound of the crowd coming at you," Minor said then. "You don't know where the first note begins."

My classmate always said whitney is the greatest singers in the world. And i just laugh her i always said Celine and aretha and is the greatest singers in the world and she just say they are great but voice whitney surpass them. And i just defend celine and and aretha but when we finish that argument and then i started view and hear whitney and i started hear her singing i ma changing and i just realized my god my classmate really the winner of our argument 😂 i just wrong about my argument with her.
