Hey, I pray you still check comments on older videos. I'm doing this job today I got a p0014 & p0024 for both banks. How do you confirm if it's the solenoid or the exhaust magnet retard inside the cover that comes off. I have my solenoids already but the magnet retard is cheaper and some people say that needs to be replaced others say the solenoid... Any way to confirm without changing one putting it back together checking codes potentially getting error and then having to take everything apart again? Thanks!

Do you have a video where you replace the engine timing retard magnet? You said you weren't going to get into it on this video. I need to replace mine on my 2014 Nissan Maxima & have watched several videos on it, but nobody pulls the magnets on video. I'd really prefer to not fly blind when I do mine, but will if necessary. Nissan wanted $1000 for each magnet assembly, but they sell the magnets individually as a repair kit (mine at least) for $150-ish each with replacement gasket.

Hello.
I had misfires on 1/3/5 cilynders also when want to accelarate after brake it goes back and then forward, I tested the magnetic retarder and the solenoid with multimeter also with 12V and they work, but I have changed the magnetic retarder, and did not helped, İ have unpluged the solenoid cable and the accelaration problem went away, so what does this mean? Thanks.

Little late to the game here but my 2015 Altima has p0011 and p0014. Camshaft timing issue. I’ve seen these videos showing that it’s the two camshaft sensors on the top. For bank A and bank B. That what you have in your hand is a crankshaft sensor. They are on the other side of the engine. Crank, exhaust and forgot the other. I’m trying to get clarification that the camshaft sensors are the ones on the top right of the engine and are the cause of the 14 and 11 code. So I don’t have to pull all them

This is brilliant - I can't figure why so many people thumbed it down. I have a 2.0 petrol X-trail in UK (Infinity in US I think). For several months I'd been getting two P1110 codes but the car seemed to drive fine apart from occasional idle lumpiness and stall - (no limp mode - so I just kept clearing the EML). After some Google time I finally got round to removing the solenoid (A right PITA when done in situ with big hands) (tip: a deep 50mm long 10mm socket puts a ratchet in the best place) and found it was real clean inside with no filter over the apertures and nothing happens with 12v applied on the bench - I now think it was duff when I bought the car used. After refitting it till the replacement arrives I left the plug off and got two P1111 codes - still no limp mode and able to acheive over 6000 revs driving uphill in first (auto). I'll edit this after trying the new one with the plug on and off at idle as I suspect a quick way to check is the idle speed might change slightly.

I have a Ford 2018 Escape the engine spins and does not work. I have code p0012 + p0014. I changed the fat and filter and changed the vvt bank 1 and cleaned the grease pressure sensor. I took out the spark plug and checked it. There is a fireball and the smell of fuel is present in the engine. I checked all the fuse and all this and the engine did not work. I am tired. Can you help?

Thanks for the great video. I'm in need of some more help. I ended getting the code P0014 on my 2009 Maxima. Said bank 1, so I roll uped the sleeves and started getting to it. I have to say that's definetley a pretty big job not impossible but not easy. Anyway I got to the camsahft cover and removed it. Then I removed the 10mm bolt holding the solenoid/actuater, tested it like you showed us. It wasn't dirty or had no sludge. It had worked by adding power to it. So this leads me to the next part in that cover. Which is the Exhaust Valve Control Magnet Retartder. Many questions on that. I really don't want to install everything back until I'm 100 percent that I don't have to replace that part. I brought it to a local mechanic he put some sort of tester to the harness part and he said it seems to be working. I asked him how would that Magnet retarder go bad. He really had no answer. So here I'm left with the car all apart and not sure what to do from this point? How would that part go bad? How can I do a test to verify that it doesn't need changing? I actually brought the car to the first mechanic that's worked on my car before when the check engine light came on. He ran codes also and said the it was the Magnet Retartder. The second mechanic says that part rarely goes bad and it should be the Solenoid/actuater. In this video I believe you said that you didn't want to talk about the Magnet Retarder, so it sounded like you might have a video about that part? Please help, the dealer didn't even know what that part was. I found that part on line for $150-$175 plus shipping. But when I called them they didn't know much about that part either. Do you have a source that sells the kit with it? Please help.....Thanks!!!!

I have code p0011 on peugeot 207 1.6 vti. I have changed oil and filter cleanned all the gunk and installed a new intake solenoid problem still comes back. Could it be the vanos?? I also swapped the vanos from another 207 that i have and problem still returns. But cannot vouch for the condition for either vanos.
