How To Shoot A Handgun Correctly: Grip, Stance, & Fixing Limp Wristing

My flaw is trigger jerk and realizing last time that my support hand wasn't squeezing hard enough.
Squeezing more with my support made a huge difference. Just need to get back to practicing when I can again.

Love the video. Thank you for the content. I have nerve damage in my left arm and have really had to work around this. I work in an armed security position so this is always a point of concern as we have to qualify quarterly. I always get a bit stressed around qualify time . However practice helps me push through.

Awesome video 💯 agree with everything you mentioned and the same way i teach grip, i however dont own anything very small because i just don't like shooting them my carry is a Canik TP9 elite SC smallest i feel comfortable with my grip i also have large hands grip strength not an issue i have been an engine builder for 40+ years, love the video,

Next do red dot shooting tips for pistols, self defense drills (maybe include some for ranges that don’t allow drawing from a holster), range bag necessities, how to refine trigger reset (idk how to put that but I notice my initial trigger squeeze is good but follow up shots I end up slapping the trigger)

Do you have any videos or advice for shooting with both eyes open? I’m right handed, but left eye dominant. The army taught me to shot lefty, but now that I qualify on handguns I’d rather learn to shoot with both eyes open and switch to shooting with both eyes open. Thanks!

As a brand new shooter, my first time at the range. The first 2 or shots were down and left. With watching videos on the recoil. And shooting more at the range. My shots are on target. No more low and left. Thanks to your videos and many others on this platform. Im still learning. Im trying to learn what i can like, and practice more at the range. By applying what i learn from videos. I have rather large hands. But being new, i have to learn to control the recoil. Which this may seem odd to you experienced shooters. But i save my targets. And bring them home. So i can compare and i can honestly see improvements from day 1 to yesterday. Thanks for the video.

I discovered rice bucket training this month, and I already notice a difference when I dry fire.

The tip about squeezing with the pinky against the palm is very good. Some people have suggested what I’d call the perch method but it doesn’t take care of the recoil very well. I just got a new barrel for my 9 and everything seems off but then again it needs more rounds through it. Much appreciated!

I spent the better part of my life with rifles and shotguns
I spent ten years in the army and had the displeasure of sent the berreta m9
Always qualified expert with it but I’m not a pistol shooter as of yet
I have the original m&p 2.0 and the M&p equalizer
I shoot the 2.0 way better than I do the equalizer
And am currently looking at the Springfield echelon and the taran canik
Which will be my edc and do everything pistol
Leaning more so for the echelon
