Virtual Host on Ubuntu with XAMPP

I get 403 error. what should the user:group and permissions be for xampp on ubuntu?

We have to update our domain name Ip or nameservers or not?

You saved my life. This is still valid in 2020.

the result for is:
my new subdomain in localhost : "api.localhost" is working but localhost does not work, idk what is the root cause, as am still in the middle of searching.

the localhost shows Forbiden access 403,

so far what i did to my local host is changing the localhost Rootdirectory instead of "/opt/lampp/htdocs" to "/home/$USER/Desktop/www/".

Thank you, its work except domain name configurations if you set ".dev" end of your domain you can take privacy errors on your browser, because of that i prefered ".local" for my domains.
