That is cool. Do you plan on leaving them there?
ОтветитьRight on!
ОтветитьThey spawn on large leaves. So they think the plastic lid is a leaf. With all the plastic floating in the amazon they should be really thriving LOL. Great video as always.
ОтветитьG'day Lucas. Where do they breed in the wild. I would assume riverbanks, so perhaps they prefer to spawn in shallower water when given the opportunity. I could be very wrong, I'm no pencilfish expert. Very cool though . Just wanted to say thank you for inspiring me to do things a little differently. It's certainly helped me to develop my fishkeeping skills to a whole different level. Thanks for a really interesting upload mate!👍
ОтветитьOk, I know the point was the eggs, but I'm totally enamored by the thought of my air stones not spraying anywhere... can't believe I never thought of a guard on the tube! The eggs are pretty flipping awesome though, too! Congrats!

Ответитьreally great idea. greetings friend
ОтветитьThe secret deli cup trick strikes again!
ОтветитьVery interesting, can you do a follow up on the fry? Things like how long it took them to hatch and feeding? That would be awesome!
ОтветитьNice to hear how the deli cup lid came to be in the tanks. I wonder if the fish would've laid eggs on it had there been air bubbles present. I'd guess not very likely. The lids also add more surface area for biofilm so that's another plus. Did you get junior up or the other way around. Its mighty early still on MTN time zone.
ОтветитьVery cool!
ОтветитьI seriously love your mascara barbs and want to see more of them :)
Ответитьnice borther video support
ОтветитьVery good idea on the cup lids.
ОтветитьThat's hilarious. Sweet killifish.
Ответить👍
ОтветитьDeli lid breeding... Only LRB can have such an amazing occurrence. Always love seeing even a brief glimpse of Wesley!
ОтветитьThat is really neat, thanks for sharing.
ОтветитьVideo quality has increased dramatically, keep making awesome videos! 🦐🐟
ОтветитьWow! That is awesome! Not just the deli lid breeders, but the edited video. Music pops and scientific names spelled out so we don't have to take an amusement park ride on Google to try and figure it out. 😉 Thank you!
ОтветитьThat Killifish is a beauty! It's really cool they decided to lay on the lid, I wonder if they like to lay eggs in shallow water so predators can't reach them before they hatch and poo brain to deeper water?
ОтветитьFish do the most amazing things. Hope you are successful in raising them up, that would be so awesome.
👍💕👍
That was great. I love it when fish do unusual things 👍💕
ОтветитьI’m using that lid idea I have been thinking about doing some similar bc I have the splash problems on the light and stuff
Ответитьawesome video
ОтветитьCan you bring some of those Vittatta Pencilfish to the Columbus Killie show/auction? Did you say in last video you have new Killies?
ОтветитьHello Lukas ! Your fish pensel it's very very b'utifol, and you super fishman !
ОтветитьYeah they’re splash terras, there’s a few species that do their eggs that way. Some will even jump out of the water to lay on a leaf, then keep flicking water onto it to keep it wet - hence splash tetra :) like pencil fish they’re really good as dithers if you’re breeding stuff like apistogramma and other s. American dwarf cichlids as they’ve got the same small mouths and as you say are really peaceful.
ОтветитьVery beautiful fish, nicely filmed, thumbs up!
ОтветитьNice bro 🤪👌✌
ОтветитьHow the heck do you spell that Pencilfish name? Paralina fertada is what it sounds like.
ОтветитьDo you think the splash tetra will go well in my south American biotope with discus?
ОтветитьThanks for sharing. 👍
