ОтветитьI came across some cuttings and gave them some love and now don't know what to do with them
ОтветитьThanks for sharing, how would I winterize my ALOCASIA
ОтветитьLove it , I also add elemental sulfer after they dry
ОтветитьCan you compost the leaves? And when you dig up your allocation, do you put them in pots and do you cut their leaves off? May be leaving one or do you leave all the leaves when you put them in pots to put it inside?
ОтветитьYour very knowledgeable.
I bought bulbs ( alocasia ) I bought one Colocasia.
I have in pots so I can move into greenhouse during winter.
👏👏
ОтветитьGood video.
One Q, how about fertilizer?
I’m a new alocasia / calocasia devotee. I bought one large alocasia last year on a whim because of its cool coloration and placed it at my front door. It took the heat and morning sun of summer effortlessly. So I bought 2 more for my patio: alocasia Metalhead and Colocasia Illustris.
ОтветитьYes great video. 🎉
ОтветитьHello, just came across your video and really enjoyed it as it explains the different types of Alocasia as I've just got one from a nursery and never had one before, is it ok to keep it in the pot in doors, by the way I live in Egypt
ОтветитьZone 6??
ОтветитьJust got mine!

Ответить💚Wonderful plant ... But why barefooted ❓😊 ~ Good 🍀👍🏼
ОтветитьI would like to know what u do at the end of the season- to overwinter it.

ОтветитьWhere was the "secret" part?
ОтветитьI got the seed and just planted it like a week now when will I start noticing if it's going to grow in my potting soil.
ОтветитьWhat kind of soil do you use?
ОтветитьHey. One popped up in my back yard. Its huge. What size drum should I place it in?
ОтветитьHoly moley, this is a vid busting with info. Well done! Your plants are loving life. I was searching for the species name of one of my plants and came across it in this vid. Thanks so much!
ОтветитьLove your website. If you’ve not visited the website of Brian’s botanicals do so . I visited his green houses in Louisville Ky. It’s heaven for plant lovers .
ОтветитьIs this plant are safe to animal i mean cats and dogs?
ОтветитьJust got my first one the king! Wish me luck.
ОтветитьGuy, This is fantastic garden, I just start leaning Toropical garden and your is so impressive.
ОтветитьFRO THE BULB, I HAVE FOUND THAT IF I POT IT WHERE ONLY THE TIP OF THE BULB IS EXPOSED, THEY ROOT MUCH FASTER. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PLANT AND ALWAYS WISH I HAD MORE. I MUST WARN EVERYONE THOUGH THAT IF YOUR PLANT DROOPS, WITH THIS PLANT, IT DOES NOT MEAN IT NEEDS A DRINK LIKE THER PLANTS. THIS MEANS IT IS TOO WET
ОтветитьOK IM BEING FRANK HERE. I LIVE IN IDAHO AND OUR FALL AND WINTER GETS PRETTY HARSH. I HAVE A COUPLE VARIETIES BUT THE ONE I NEED TO BRING INDOORS IS MY GIGANTICA. IT IS POTTED AND ONY TWO FEET TALL SO FAR. MY QUESTION IS, CAN I TREAT IT AS Y OTHER SPECIES WIT MOIT=STURE AND WATERING INDOORS? ALSO, FOR THIS TYPE OF ELEPHANT EAR, HOW OFTEN SHOULD I POT AND WHAT SIZE POT WOULD ENCOURAGE LARGER LEAVES?
ОтветитьThank you for this. I am considering planting a Alocasia patch in a bright, sunny spot in growing zone 8b (Beach area). What kind of mixing plant(s) do you think might go well with an Alocasia? I was thinking of a Canna Lily.
ОтветитьDo all alocasia create a trunk?
ОтветитьI have a huge alocacia from Whole Foods I rescued. The middle leaf got damaged pretty bad from people handling it. I live in Southern California. I have no idea where to plant it because I don’t have a whole lot of shade. It’s in my spare room right now. Can I keep it outside in semi full sun?
ОтветитьNice💚... I'm gonna need your help in the near future
ОтветитьBeautiful!!
ОтветитьIn zone 5-6- Chicago land. I e overwintered colocasia, but want to get bigger leaves- I see to be getting a bunch of smaller leaves- any thoughts why that would be
ОтветитьI LOVE your little pond/ water feature!! Its beautiful!!
ОтветитьIs this the alocasia macrorrhiza upright? Manto de Eva that is also called. Elephant ear is a name to many varieties that doesn't help me much when looking for one of them with the correct name. If anyone has the correct name in English.
ОтветитьGrowing my first, brought it from Lowe’s and it’s beautiful
ОтветитьI have a variegated alocasia I bought as a starter plants and it's putting out nice leaves, but not really growing tall, and the same for my new guinea gold alocasia. I put them big pots and set them outside every day and put them in the garage at night for darkness and humidity. I also have the miracle-gro organic. Do u have any suggestions? Also I only had them for 2 months and half.
ОтветитьI have got the purplish color plant for my bog filter but I don't know much about them, would it be suitable for a watery environment as I like to clear up my pond of algae?
ОтветитьLove the vid would like to hear more about the zones people are in, I’m in San Diego and have both colo and alo
ОтветитьI just repotted my alocasia calidonia (it's indoor) and it's starting to droop, one leaf at a time. Any suggestions? It doesn't seem under or over watered.
ОтветитьI’m growing my 1st one outdoors in light shade (zone 9a). Will I have to dig it up for the winter in North Florida?
ОтветитьAlocasia and Colocasia as well -do these both grow out of tuber looking root structures? Like a rhizome kind of I guess?
ОтветитьI made a birdbath one time using a big giant leaf like that as a stamp kind of thing for the concrete and never knew you could grow plants like that in zone 6 which is also where Im at! Where Im at now.
ОтветитьI didn’t see the stingray elephant ear ?
ОтветитьIf I told you you had huge elephant ears, would you hold it against me?
ОтветитьWe are thinking about adding two of these in pots out by our pool Zone 6. They will be in full sun all day. In the winter time, my plan is to bring them into an outdoor bathroom that I have setup to keep the room temp above 45° for over wintering them, along with my Majestic Palms. As for the soil in a container (that will be on a time to get watered daily), do you think I should add brown mulch to my potting soil to help with drainage?
Ответитьi just got a tea cup … how do you over winter it? Im 7a do i let it dry out then store like i do canna rhizomes
ОтветитьGreat informative video. We live in North West corner of South Carolina zone 7 unfortunately we have a mole problem. Do you have any suggestions on cages to protect them ?
Thank you
Can the alocasia still grow a lot in a vase? And has to BE a big One or they prefer the small spaces like begonia?
