I understand wanting to “pay the bank less money”. But you honestly are just taking away commission based peoples money. If you can’t afford the car, buy a cheaper one. Simple.

My dealer has one price online and then you go in and they jacked the price saying the lift and wheels that are on the truck are extra. So it goes from 32 online to "list price is 43". I'm thinking about going there with 7k cash and a bank check for 25. Do you think this will work if I have all the money ready to go even if it's less than their inflated price? Its got 58 days at dealer 116 on carguru

90% of all the reason the customer is held up at the dealership is caused by the customer. I had a guy tell me I got 30 minutes to pick up my car. That’s 30 minutes for finance to be correct and compliant, for me to go over the car and do my job correctly. Do you would think that Mr. thirty minutes could be here on time. But you would wrong. Mr Thirty Minutes was 10 minutes late. So now he still expected to be out in 20. Not gonna happen. So if you are gonna be “That guy” at least show respect and show up on time. And bring the stuff we tell you to bring. I forgot my title will not fly. You will not get your new car.

We don’t care if it takes 30 minutes or 30 hours. You will do everything correctly. Many “pre approvals” are not approvals. Capital one is famous for this. Also many credit unions do not give you a check. They make dealers fill out a voucher. If your dealer wants they have the right to hold the car until the credit union deposits the funds. We had a credit union take 3 weeks before they funded us. That’s 3 weeks they did not own the vehicle we do. And you are right. Customers screw up their own car deals. Bad driver’s license. No driver’s license. Lied on the credit app. Lied about the trade they have. Tries to put 20k on a credit card, Straw purchase or brings 20 grand in 5s and 10s But the biggest problem is customers lying. When I started 31 years ago I was astounded at the volume of lies told by customers. I thought dealers lied! But customers are the king.

Would want to or consider doing a no see buy even on a new vehicle. I visit the dealership several times I talk to different sales people I meet the sales manager and or gm manager I decide which salesperson I'm going to deal with when I've found the unit I come in without an appointment when it's not busy near the end of the day, month, year if I can (Dec 11th was my best day) or whenever the situation is advantageous such as when there's rebates. I typically advise the dealership that I'm aware that they all pay the same price for new vehicles, I'm not going to shop them as I know they can offer me a deal that is agreeable to both of us. I negotiate the price with one time no counter offer and I state if you meet this number I will sign the purchase agreement No further negotiations It's worked for me several times and when I have go back to the dealer from some service or anything like that if I have issues I get priority treatment as I'm a well-known customer and typically the dealership for service and get to know the parts and service staff.

All that information they request is just bait and switch, the people just need their birth certificate, which is the acceptance wizard, and the back of the SSC, which is the payment wizard. I'm tire of y'all lying to we the people who are the Creditors and corporations are the debtors, double dipping! I want them off my land, the slavedealers, who has no life but to steal, kill and destroy the people for their own financial gains! 😡

I don't get it , 250 100 dollar bills why is that a problem? Why EXACTLY? I'd like you to detail exactly why thats a issue. Seriously, why is cash a problem, don't give me drug dealer shit, in 1930 many people lost their life savings in banks, I REMEMBER this, please, why exactly what laws are an issue...what do they make you do if someone brings in 250 one hundred dollar bills? I want this out there so there is no question about why its an issue. Please note, your response may be used in a lawsuit.

Bought a van, took it home, days later we got a call we had to go back to sign papers due to something. Anyway husband was on chemo and very ill, drank beer to settle his stomach no idea why cold beer helped but I said no and he insisted and we ended up driving a long distance, waiting for a couple of hours and I am still angry even though it wasn't me that was very ill and in pain. I hate car dealers who take hours to do what? because it is straight forward when I have the financing and know what I want so just give it to me and maybe take a trade in because I don't want to haggle like a fish wife. They expect me to be excited but I am depressed and angry every time and I don't shop for a car I leave and go to another dealer with a better person I can work with who just wants me to buy and leave ASAP. I purchased last car from a friend and avoided them entirely. Give me a website any day to purchase from. Amazon should be setup to sell cars. I said this once online and somebody said they had to sit inside the car and test drive it. So rent a car and test drive it a day. The entire concept is old fashioned and I was so happy when Japanese dealers changed the whole business so we didn't have to decide on the radio, the tires, etc. Kids have no idea how long it used to take when I was young. Car dealer equals torture.

That’s not buying a car that’s financing a car.
How can you buy a car in under 30 minutes paying cash? No bickering about packages once one obtains OTD price.

Hello! I am new to the channel and am loving it so far. One thing I woould like to mention is that things are vastly different here in Toronto Canada but still I have managed to piss off a lot of dealers (and I mean that in a good way). One thing I have trouble with is that the dealers here say that they will charge extra for paying cash and due to this, they force me to discuss payments without getting to the OTD price. Any tips for that? But everything considered, thank you for your tips and guidance. I didn't think I could ever negotiate the asking price being a shy person.

Mike, great videos, if you see a car from another state (but within driving distance) that looks really good, researched the dealership and they seem ok. You mentioned in the video of 5 things not to say to a salesman, to stay loyal to your local dealers because they won’t give you anything, if it’s a CPO o guess it may be tough to get the car serviced being it’s far away (not local but
about an hour plus) You mentioned in this video you have clients all over the country, if they have a problem what do they do? If it’s a cpo do they find a mechanic or dealership to service it? What about extended warranty polices? (Probably a no no) go with company that is an after market that offers that

I agree Mike...you come prepared the process can move pretty quickly. My last car purchase, a 2019 colorado from a chevy dealer pre pandemic. I had picked out the car on the internet. Set an appointment on the internet. I arrived and they had the truck pulled out up front. I told the salesman I did not want any fluff or word tracks, just let me see the vehicle. I looked over the truck and told the guy I wanted it. The worst part was dealing with the trade. The internet price on the colorado was actually a great price; however, they tried to make it back on the trade. Fortunately I did have cash offers from Carmax and Carvana which saved the day. It was nice to whip out the USAA check in the finance office. Being prepared shows the dealer you are not a mark or lay down.

Mike, Question on CreditCards...I prefer to use my CC as I get rewards for using it. So paying downpayment in cash actually costs me more than a CC. That said, would it be possible to renegotiate a discount for paying with Check/MO/CertCC? Ok, I know it's possible but is it reasonable to expect (does it happen often)?

I bought my current car Memorial Day weekend 2020, and I was at the dealership (that was about 80 miles from home) less than 30 minutes. But here is my real question as I’m shopping now. Looking at new, how do I compare interiors, of different trims, since we don’t have car shows locally. Growing up in Orlando, we had a car show every year, and you could see/feel differences in person. Any advice on that?
