The 2 Keys to Starting A Successful Garden YouTube Channel: A Concise Intro & Slow Camera Movement

I've put up a couple of videos this year. More of a personal journal of the garden, but, still wouldn't mind some views lol. Trying not to move too fast is a hard one. Appreciate the tips, thanks!

Awesome! Any chance you might cover the equipment you use including editing software? Even the most basic parts about how to set up a channel, upload videos and everything else you think is important. I want to do this but I am older and haven't a clue. Thx Gary for great tips . Can you also share the best way to load your videos to you tube? Do you use phone or camera. Sometimes I make a video and it takes a very looooong time to load and then it may not load at all. Sometimes I get a message saying it was too long of a video . Seems like that shouldn’t be an issue since there are so many videos out that are much longer than I’ve done. Do you use an app? What’s the secret? Love your videos and your new homestead 👍👍😊

The first thing you mentioned — the intro — is valuable information people should heed, to apply to any form of audience they want to capture.
Get to the point. Once they know they content, you can get to specifics. Jibber jabbering around is annoying if you’re trying to explain something that the listener doesn’t know what you are about to mention — whether social activities, one-on-one, videos/audio podcasts — anything.
I’ve learned this from being the annoyed listener, and mostly from noticing distracted listeners who lost interest for various reasons.
If you want someone to listen to you — give them a good reason to do so: for your sake, and especially their sake. 🙂

I agree you need to keep peoples attention, don't be boring. Good tips.. Also clean up the area, don't leave out trash or things that don't look good. It will be seen in the shot.

I started a gardening channel, well at least thats what I think. I have a vineyard, orchard and a garden. So my plan is to teach people and show them on how I grow my plants and trees and what I have noticed over the years, it might not fit everyone's style but thats just me. My question is also, when I post my videos, there is a question about what category to put this video in, it doest have a gardening category. So what do I put them in? Please help if you can.
