I am a Transsexual person and I cannot imagine how hard it is to be Nonbinary. Too all my Nonbinary siblings out there, I love you all.

Can I simplify it like Woman is one upbringing style , Man another upbringing style and non-binary is just your own style of being human that can look like mix of both "traditional" binary styles ? Only question that comes up to my mind is Are you also autistic ? as 24% of non-binary are autistic so there is chance.😀

I know non binary individuals say that cis people can be gender non conforming but in practice they will, more often than, not assume that non confirming individuals are non binary/trans eggs. I know this having hung out in their spaces and by having non binary friends. So in practice, it relies heavily on traditional gender roles.

Isn't it the case that we always knew we could like non-stereotypical things and still be proud boys and girls? The non-binary community are just perpetuating that you have to identify as non-binary or trans if you don't conform. I certainly would have gone that way if this were around when I was young, and I'm so glad it wasn't. I'm proud of Roly for leaving this community and I wish them all the help to be more comfortable in their birth gender.

So it literally means nothing other than saying that you are non binary - and you really need people to agree that oh yes you are to validate something that in itself is just a word? What if people, don’t disagree with you but literally don’t care, have better things to do than worry about something that isn’t a thing (unless they are a close friend or relative). Seems like just a desire to be edgy, in the same way I might say i am a staunch authoritarian communist- fair enough, buy it is meaningless because I don’t live in a Stalinist country where I can actually be one in any sort of meaningful way. It smacks of middle class suburban kids trying to escape from a mundane existence without changing anything apart from a haircut and clothes- which anyone can do anyway

I’m struggling to wrap my head around the non binary thing but watching these videos to learn more and hopefully get rid of my judgement but like Why would you want to be called they, them? Sounds like an alien and I feel uncomfortable saying it.

back when i was a "cis" "girl" i would watch this video over and over again because it was the best thing i had at the time to hear nonbinary people talking about their lives in a non-judgemental, honest, completely open way. i don't agree with everything everyone said, because as this video shows, every nonbinary person is different. but looking back at this now that i've learned so much more about myself, i want to say thank you BBC for making this and helping kids like me find connections & identity
