Mei Mei's hair is like that to hide her eyes from curses so they dont know she is watching them (nanami's glasses are also for this reason) Also Mei Mei is the opposite of Nanami in many ways and shows how messed up ppl win in jujutsu society while good ppl like nanami struggle because they are ethical. also Nanami has a big soft spot for the youth (Itadori) while Mei Mei see's the youth (Ui Ui) as someone to "use" or manipulate for power/money

for season 2 episode 17 you should 100% watch the blu ray version of it, there's a LOT of changes and extra added scenes. Also, the blu ray episodes have the ghosting (motion blur type effect) and dimming (lowering the brightness during bright scenes) removed which is very nice!!!

The Episode 17 from the Season 2 isn´t finished, in the TV version, so it´s recommended download the Blu Ray version with English Subtitles or, failing that, with the dubbing, although I don´t know if the Blu Ray version has Dubbing. However, that episode doesn´t have much dialogue and especially in the fight it lacks dialogue so it will be easy for your mother to understand. ;)
