Slender: The Arrival has just had a massive 10 year anniversary update that totally overhauls the original levels and adds a whole new chapter! This video features a full playthrough, as well as the Genesis (classic Slenderman Rosewood Park) level and the new chapter (called Nightmare).

If im not mistaken. In the end you play as Charlie’s dad as it was stated before that after he got took and turned into a proxy, his mom moved on eventually, while his dad had to be locked away in a mental hospital.

They made the outside at night WAY too bright, kinda ruins the atmosphere.

The graphics were good in the 1.0 version, but then they got downgraded in the 2.0 version for the weak pc’s. Then they got fully upgraded in the 3.0 version which is what we have now.

Man, 10 years??? I remember watching playthrough videos from ‘11 drunk guys’ playing various Slender games. What a nostalgia trip!

It is even more hype knowing that Slender: The Arrival has also been confirmed to get an official sequel sometime next year in 2024 titled "S: The Lost Chapters" 😁😁😁😁😁

The first jump scare after the prologue completely took you off guard. I screamed and dropped my phone too. Glad we could relive the horror of Slendy again, together!

Sorry for some information, how do you save the game data while you are playing?

Notable changes:
- Stamina recharges faster than the original.
- Slender Man has improved range to kill the player, also has more efficient and opportune spawns inside houses to catch the player off guard.
- When a player jumps from a high cliff and hits the ground they are momentarily halted.
- Chaser is now more relentless and harder to avoid, also has higher speed than the original. Chaser also has reduced stun from flashlight.
- On Hardcore, Chaser can kill you in two takedowns instead of the usual three in the original.
- You can now die in the cellar on Homestead when you run into Charlie while he is standing still which did not happen in the original.
- The Arrival chapter now forces the player to choose between routes and is completely based on RNG. You can no longer simply run through the brush of trees and skip the chapter almost entirely.
- Slender Man's dark vines can now instant kill the player on the Arrival chapter unlike the original whereas he just momentarily halts your movement. They also have improved range.
- Slender Man is much more difficult to avoid on Genesis chapter and the map overall has been shrunk in size.
- The elevator glitch in the Abyss chapter that allowed the player to fall off the map no longer exists.
- Flashlight no longer dims on Hardcore difficulty with prolonged use.

The only part that still bugs me is the generator sequence because the running and stamina is dog shit to the point of just being annoying. It would be nice if they patch that so the running or stamina could be a bit more forgiving because as it is right now, it's just a chore, especially when the generators are randomized.

Never in my years would I think I would see this game again, but here we are.
I remeber this being a big deal for YT back in 2013, as this was at the time the biggest Slender game we got. In terms of gameplay, story and quality that is. Now it is a little dated for todays standards, but if there is one thing this game nails, and this dates back to even the OG Slender, is Atmosphere. And with the new update, this is close to a modern remake/remaster as we can get, the new look is a nice coat of paint for this, and some areas look absolutly gorgous. Even helping with some sections, cause I recall the mine section being annoying back then with how dark it used to be. Even the new content adds more good spooks to this classic. Now it's not perfect, it does have some tropes, and honestly the animation on the Demon Child thing could look better, but all in all this is a great remaster to a classic from back then. Who knows, maybe more people will come along and bring back this icon of internet horror in new and creative ways? Only time will tell.

Also, and small spoilers so don't read if you haven't played/watched yet:
But now after revisting this, with the objectively better graphics, new text and animations, I never put it together back then, but the ending is basically confirming what happened to Kate. CR obviously got caught or burned himself to death, and Kate ran off. But somehow, after all the time and insanity, somehow turned into that Hooded creature that chased you in the mines. Best I can think of, Slendy finally got to her and she is now one of his pawns in his hauntings. At least that's the best I can surmize.

Maybe this was true in the original, but I noticed this update changes the 8 pages so the pages are not random, but the terrain and locations are moved around instead (although i am sure its just several versions of the map, at random).

Ah yes, flashbacks to a time when Slenderman was everywhere. I never did manage to finish this game, Slenderman was always so freaky, even though he mostly just stands there looking menacing. Hearing the sublte 'dun dun dun' in the soundtrack after you pick up the first page still fills me with anxiety.

I haven't even fully watched it, but the Genesis level is so much better in terms of visuals.
The original Genesis is a good remaster. It did become the only way to play it, but that is because the original Eight Pages is gone. The environment was much nicer, but a lot of the textures got changed.
In this re-remaster? SO MUCH BETTER. The building has the original bricks on the outside and the inside looks so much better. The silo isn't red but it actually looks like a silo now lmao. Plus with the flashlight actually refracting light, that helps it look cooler too! Plus they most def made the trees taller and I think that helps make you feel more trapped in the forest.
A lot of the original elements from the original levels are kept and that's a good thing. They had already good stuff to them, but I am so glad that they clearly went back and gave the Genesis level some proper treatment this time. I absolutely love it.

Still one of the worst flashlights in video games. The only thing they really needed to fix and...they didn't
