Please Sir, are there any general guidelines in composing the first bars of a melody; especially a chorale anthem?
ОтветитьWhat a lovely melody!
ОтветитьThank you!!
ОтветитьI hope it's not a dumb question, but is the melody in the first bar the motif? Greetings and thank you for your lessons :)

ОтветитьVery educational video. You're a knowledgeable man in music theory indeed. This video encouraged me how to know how amazing my newest compositions are turning out currently. Explaining the theory behind each piece really awakens a deep spiritual understanding of this mathematical language. Bless you for this Sir. Great job explaining this.

You make creating music seem achievable even for someone who just recently started playing an instrument and learning about music theory

ОтветитьIt's the best music theory channel I've ever seen! Thank you!!!
ОтветитьIs it possible to write a melody using one or two of the extension notes of the chord on the strong beats? Say, using an F# note on a Gmajor7 chord. Or, an A or E? Would they need to be in a higher pitch to behave as extensions which harmonize with the the chord tones rather than lower notes behaving as inessential notes? Or, when I write or see any extended chord, should I always simply boil it down to it’s basic triad to write a melody and work with it such as how you’ve shown us? Thanks!
ОтветитьIs writing human vocal melody a bit different than writing melody to instrument?
ОтветитьA very traditional cadential six four to end off with. A fantastic and helpful video.
ОтветитьAbout rhythmic character, Bach has quite a few pieces that are written mostly in 16th notes, but they are felt in different groupings throughout the piece, making you feel a rhythm that isn't written
ОтветитьSir your conjunct disjunct trick works
ОтветитьGreat, thanks.
