Tutorials | MicroFreak - Episode 4: Sequencer

I got my MF this month and when I live record a sequence it just won't replay my initial playing : it will start with a silence or with the lasta notes of my sequence. it presents also some swing when I make more rythmic patterns.
Also I found an arpeggiator bug : when I trigger notes on the keyboard the arpeggiator will start with a silence and the note note played = more obvious at low tempo and low rate.
Discussing it with Arturia's support and they'll look into it for next firmware upgrade

The Sequencer's features are blowing 🤯 reallly like it! but... I watching this video like 4th time for the last few months. each time to refresh in memory needed button-knob combinations how to use it 😅the video is cool and clear though. so much to remember to me =)

This fun and powerful little beast is a fantastic toy synth! I say toy because of its small nature and price but it truly rocks

I have a Novation Bass Station 2, and wanted to buy the Korg Monologue... but I think this will fit better. I don't like those keyboards but for the price it has, its sound and options... I think I won't complain.

Any of you know how to make the sequencer recognize the pressure of each note?

The micro freak turns into a real beast, all in very boring monotone.....

everytime I record a sequence , it stays on 16 steps no matter how many times i set it to 64 , any ideas what I'm doing wrong anyone ?

49 seconds in he said enable the sequencer but points to the spice button. Am i missing something or did he mean to point at the pattern button with the ▶️?

I love this amazing little powerhouse, editing is a dream, but really don't see the point of that ribbon or the dice/chilli functions, a small effects section would have made it 100% instead of 99.........still love it though.

i'm just a guitar player but this tutorial seems easy to understand and i think i'll buy a MicroFreak because i want to try it and it's not too expensive.

The last year I've been using mostly the arp and not delved into the sequencer but holy shit I didn't realise there was automation sequencing! It's indeed a whole new level!

I want to press shift + a keyboard key to store/load more than two sequences. Also where is the tempo dial? I don’t mean the division step dial.

What reverb pedal is that in the end?

I was a couple of months into owning this- for the second time- before I realised it even had a sequencer. This may be the clearest demo of its function, but I suspect that I’ll need to watch this several times before being able to actually create one.

What did you push to enable record on the sequencer? A close up would be helpful or screen text.

Dear Arturia. Since you've already brought out at least two special editions of the Microfreak (Vocoder and Stellar) I have a request for a third. In the interest of accessibility, please replace the ribbon/icon ui for the sequencer with physical buttons.

Is the sustain knob the same as release on other synths?

I have a problem to which I cannot seem to find any solution anywhere.
While recording a sequence I accidentally touched the filter cutoff button (it was at 233kHz), which means that everytime the sequence reaches that step, it will reset the filter cutoff at 233kHz, which I do not want.
Of course I could simply move the filter cutoff to another frequency, but it would not solve my problem as it would just all the time reset it to that new frequency. Reseting the step with the hold button also doesn't work. I simply want the sequence to not influence my filter anymore, is there anyway to do this?

Hi! Is it possible add more layers/patterns in the sequence? I mean, buil a base with a sounds and then use another different sound from library and so (like digitark or Roland S-1). Thank you.

Having microfreak for few years I couldn't figure out how to use sequencer properly. Thanks for the nice explanation video!

How do you even see where you are on the sequence, there's no indicators, it would be like using a looper with quantization not a sequencer.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I have a qq: Can you or how do you play longer than one step notes in the sequencer? If i want the first 4 steps to be a continues C1 note, how do you program that? Also can you add accents, or change the velocity for each step in edit mode? thanks :)
