If you were to do it again, would you skip the camp and just do the hotel for 2 nights? We coincidentally have the exact same camp and hotel booked, but wondering if the camp is worth it.

I've learned through several trips that you can take a jeep to your desert camp, then enjoy a sundown 2 hour camel ride from there. It's the best way to experience the desert. My last trip there, there were serious winds throughout the night.
The experience is well worth the time to get there.

A journey by camel through The Sahara - wowza! So cool. Until you took the Jeep. Description of soreness made me think of inner thigh soreness on long strenuous bike rides - must be similar. Feel the pain. I found that the "tent" was so unbelievably unlike what I imagined a tent in the Sahara would be! Thanks for sharing the experience!
