I have a PS3 backwards compatibility and I only use it for special occasions. From what I've heard these old models heat up real quick.

Unfortunately being a Back-Compat PS3 it's got a bad 90nm RSX in it, they ALL were bad. Thankfully there is now a method to swap that out with an 40nm RSX from a PS3 Slim, especially since you're on a high enough firmware to support the swap. Might want to look into it.

I had a ps3 slim where you could play ps3 and ps1 but not ps2. Never understood it but now I do. Thanks for the video… by the way PS1 was the best in my opinion and Tomb Raider 2 was the best game from that era… for PlayStation 2 I would say the best game is GTA SA and PlayStation 3 it is GTA 5. Proud to say all 3 games produced in my home country of the UK. I could walk to the developers of core design who created tomb raider in Derby in ten minutes from where I grew up…

PS5 can play all PS games, but Sony does not want You to have that. PS1, PS2 and PS3 games can be played by emulation and Sony having ALL tech documentation can make it work with support from devs of PS3 games. Shell out money for re-releases, because Sony does not want us to play games we like, they want your money.

I just got a backwards compatible 60gb PS3 that was in near perfect condition from a pawnshop for $100. Got a video about it on my channel it was wrapped in plastic still so the actual console had no scratches at all so it amazing and it plays perfectly fine.

The one downside of the Fat PS3 was the gloss finish yea it looks nice but after a week of use it attracts so much dust and even using a microfibre cloth it still scratches

I bought one from the second hand shop for £20 UK pounds, it had a lot of cosmetic wear on the unit and it's a refurbished one this was almost 10 years ago and still use it now and it works fine, but slapped a 1TB harddrive in there

Cool video, I have the exact same model PS3 you have currently but i don't use it often i like these old PS3's but they are kind of a one trick pony trying to find one that's in good condition and still works great. My personal favorite is the 60GB one i had 2 of them but my first one rlod'd twice and i sold my 2nd one almost 2 years ago so i bought my current one last year and it worked every time i turned it on.
