Love my XC40. Just got it as a surprise BD gift from hubby. This is my first Volvo. I am totally hooked. It's loaded with the cool features. I love the trunk opening feature since my hands are always full. I had no idea there was the other features in the trunk or about the hook in the glove compartment, so thanks. Now hubby wants one. 😂

I currently own an XC40 Inscription that just went over 4 years of ownership. They immediately sent me a reminder about the VOLVO drive app and at the 4 year point it went out. The yearly cost to reinstate it is $200 😲. I loved the convenience and features... but I rather have the $200 in my pocket. I am willing to pay $100 a year. I also have a 2020 S60 with about 10 months left with the free APP.

Volvo today is not more than Chinese junk , all the parts ( MADE IN CHINA ) , broke one after other , dont buy Volvo , buy Chinese car at half price and same quality because Volvo is made by Geely , i have 2022 electric Volvo change battery under waranty new in the box ( MADE IN CHINA ) and now the electric motor is noisy new in the box ( MADE IN CHINA ) i pay for Volvo and i get a Chinese junk

Is the C40 or XC40 better for a petite woman?

I bought one last year and I couldn’t be more thrilled with it, it’s really the perfect everyday run around car. But I am glad I got mine last year before the facelift because I don’t like the new headlight design at all and prefer the Volvo system over android auto, Volvo system had CarPlay and that’s all I needed.

I love reviews by these guys -- but like all of the other XC40 reviews I've seen they managed to overlook a huge problem: You actually need a copilot if you want to use the moronic infotainment system. We've owned an XC40 for three years and will NEVER buy another Volvo. We learned the hard way that a car without hard buttons for radio/media and heating and cooling is just way too annoying to consider.

Our XC40 has some kind of mystery vibration, too, coming up through the wheels or drive train. The local dealer had it for weeks and they said they couldn't find any problem -- and then mentioned that vibrations are a known issue with the XC40. Like that makes it okay. Nice folks at the dealership, but they just blew us off -- as, according to them, so did Volvo.

Otherwise a nice little car with a lot to recommend it. But for a company that's supposedly focused on safety to design a control system that is so awkward to use that you could easily run into a tree -- or another Volvo driver -- there's just no excuse for that.

My over $70k 2023 Volvo car has a steering wheel vibration very bad when driving 65 mph, making it quite annoying and UNSAFE to drive, especially at high speeds, contacting Volvo case was opened over 2 months still no solution or update.

DO NOT BUY A VOLVO!!!!!! I owned a 2019 S60 until October of last year. The safety system and automatic emergency breaking is way to safe and finicky. I was driving on the highway when the car in front of me started to break. I was a safe distance about 3 and a half to 4 car lengths away when all of a sudden, the car turned on the emergency brakes. When I mean turn on I mean, it fully engaged. Car wheels locked up and I couldn't move at all. Then the car said I was going to have an accident when I then looked in the rearview mirror to see an F150 slamming his brakes. Needless to say, the car was totaled. Volvo investigated the black box and said that the car did everything it was supposed to. In other words the car caused me to have an accident. So again don't buy a Volvo the electronics are crap and it's safety systems are way too overly safe and finicky.

Volvo is owned by the same country that brought us Covid…China. Volvo needs to be free from Geely/China ownership.

I have a 2019 XC40 and while the engine is very peppy at 250hp, the transmission is noticeably laggy.

took delivery on a MY2023 full EV model and the volvo winter mat pkg was added on (I didn't order it, didn't want it, and they wouldn't remove it saying that it now came standard with the MY2023). I took one look at Volvo's version of winter mats and - as you say - order TuxMats. The TuxMats are fantastic and snapped into place with ZERO need for any of the included clips or velcro. HIGHLY recommend for Canadian winters

Bought my wife one. 2023 B5 Ultimate. It’s a fantastic car (besides the total brake system failure at 83 miles, but has since been fixed by Volvo). Dealership did right by us though and overall was a way better experience than I’ve had at pretty much any other dealership (Jeep, Audi, Land Rover, and BMW).

Got the harman kardon upgrade..sucks compared to the Dyn Audio premium on the S 40. Hate that u have to use screen for AC. Also that stupid trash bin could have been a useful storage space..But love the way it drives on highway with 20 " considering short wheel base. Why did they use cheap black plastic on sides and rear bumper that fades in 9 months instead of painted? Volvo doesnt accept complaints from customers who buy their cars..tried. they could make good improvements if they listened to their customers. Engine sounds like a blender full of paper clips (But i know its durable). Gonna trade for Buick Envision.

I bought new one xc 40 b3 mild hybrid 2 months ago. Straight away I have issues with kers system. Service changed few components due to noise while braking. Now latest they ordered ISGM Module and problem takes 2months and still ongoing. Not to mention their customer service isnt the best either. Bad experience so far. Will be my last volvo for sure.
