So I know this is 2 years old but I just want to say that Short vague subject lines are REALLY good. I know from experience that especially appropriate person and quick question work wonders. Its a bit like a YT Thumbnail. You want them to have Questionmarks over their heads to open it.

Theres one time I forgot to put in a subject line on my email campaign . And had 67% open rate. Showed it to my mentor, he said, how de fk u get 67%, im spending weeks to come up with killer subject lines and losing to no subject lines.

Moral of the story is, it's viable but don't do it too much. The art of surprise is a viable technique when it comes to this job

I use the a different method which works for me 80% of the time.

In the subject line I Put “RE: *topic of choice*”

Reason being is they think they’ve already spoken to me and they open the email assuming they have and they may have forgotten and then it goes from there.
