This video has been up for a while but had to come back and comment because I’ve shifted my everyday makeup to this technique (using products I already have like a cream not liquid blush and your suggestion of spot concealing before underpainting) & the small tweaks make it look so much more natural!

Always fun to try different techniques and thank you Sophie for trying them first so we know which ones might be worth trying ourselves 😅

Just so you know all you need for SPF is 30 :) You’re supposed to reapply anyways!

I’m sorry but the tiktok girl made that shit up lmao if you look at close up shots on ghetty images you’ll see a lot of powder on some celebrities. Not every skin type can do this type of makeup. This kind of makeup works on some models but even then it’s not 100% always what is being done. If anything that’s usually not what’s being done because lighting alone would cause the makeup to heat up and your natural oils would break down the products. Also every makeup artist has their own techniques and preferences. There’s tons of celebrity makeup artists that talk about techniques they use and what products they use, we should be looking at their content, not some random girl who claims to know the secrets. As a normal mua these kinds of tiktoks drive me insane cause I’ll get people asking me to do this and I have to tell them it’s not accurate and will likely not last them even mid way through their prom photos. Celebrities edit their photos, they have professional photographers, people who pay attention to lighting and for some people/occasions even have people who touch them up throughout the night. Normal people don’t have that budget. Like keke Palmer says about her body “It is my job. Let's not get crazy — I don't want people thinking that I am setting unrealistic standards.” The same thing applies here. Don’t hold yourself to that expectation and standard

Remember, you aren't just preventing aging by wearing SPF, you're preventing skin cancer! But yes, it really does help with aging too. My mom was big on SPF and doesn't have the wrinkles and age spots that most do at her age. She looks at least 10yrs younger. I've always worn SPF (my grandma had skin cancer) and now in my late 30's, I definitely don't look it, and without any botox or fillers. My favorite product is Dr Jart+ BB (Premium Beauty Balm) with SPF 40. It's a tinted moisturizer with a beautiful, glowy, natural finish. Don't forget to wear sunscreen on your body too, and to reapply after swimming, sweating, and/or every 2 hours.

I really like the look, but babe how does she call this "natural". it does not look natural AT ALL. In the Tiktok at the end she is like 1-step away from looking like she has a sunburn, the blush just looks too intense on her. I actually preffered your look, but I still would not ever call that natural.

I basically do this, but add a tiny amount of tinted foundation, then conceal any blemish with tiny amount of concealer, then add cream blush, contour and highlighter, only powder my t zone but add powder contour and blush to make it stay better. Otherwise yeah would just all slide off 😂

Soph, I wear huge glasses and have rosacea. I feel like I dont look like myself if I cover my red cheeks so tend to use an Orange/peach blush, then mix concealer with the blush if I have to cover any spots. And elaborate eye makeup looks wierd because my glasses basically hide it. Lisa Eldridge did a video a few years ago about eye makeup with glasses but I would love it if you could do one, I know you wear comtacts but an every day makeup look for glasses would be fantastic! X

Love ur videos as always, Soph. I don't really get the idea of people trying not to look like they have make up on when they do. I mean, it's makeup. That's what it's supposed to do. It's gonna show up on your face. What's the problem with that? People are paying hundreds of dollars on makeup products for them not to look like makeup... Lmao😂

Use skincare thats right for your skin then it won't slip off!! If you have oily skin you don't wanna over-hydrate and be drenched in sticky moisture/spf before you start your makeup :) use lighter, gel moisturiser and korean sunscreen that will work wayyy better & you won't have to rely on lots of powder to stop oils that you put on your face!! :)

It's so weird seeing a viral makeup routine so similar to what I've been doing for months now. I do have a few changes in my routine, like I usually don't go that heavy on blush but that glow on the cheeks does come from the cheek tint. The one I use is from the body shop, it looks so natural and gives the most healthy looking glow, i love it so much

This is a fun way to do glowy natural makeup, but it’s definitely not the reason celebs look the way they do. Having a team of people curating their image has way more impact, and even after all the treatments, lasers, botox, filler, lighting, and professionally done makeup they still use photoshop to fix the rest.
We can’t expect ourselves to look like celebrities, because they don’t even look like that irl lol
