Europeans people? Hungarians are not European but Ugric people that migrated from Asia! "Roma" are Rajasthani Indians! The documentary seems very anti-Romanian! According to DW the History of Transylvania started in the 13th century.. shame!

Country with a very high potential but still stuck in the 80s.

Too busy with religion, and despite the high IT industry and good universities, paper beaurocracry is everywhere. Need to take a day off work just to renew your passport or to register a car in your name. The nature and food are really nice and the people are welcoming, if you are a straight religious man that is.

Also, as seen with the cemetery, Romanians are obsessed with death, with the healthcare system in the state it is, there's rarely an alternative.
Too traditionalist

While the presented people, heritage and regions are beautiful and respect for that this is just barely scratching the surface of the wonders of Transilvania. Either this should've been a multiple episode documentary or should've been better organized. (No disrespect for the people presented in the documentary, wish them all the best) Just should've been deeper.

So proud to be Romanian , based in very west of Romania , last year I visited almost every place presented here ,including the famous cemetery,everything feels like you back in time at least two long generations 😊

Nice that they mention the German and the roma minorities. However, I do not understand how they could leave out mentioning the Hungarian 'minority' of Transylvania, which is actually more, than prominent in the region... Very misleading.. Based on this video, I question the credibility of DW...

If you say Transylvania has a male dominated culture, then you know nothing about how Transylvanian people live, how they share work and responsibilities, how women have shaped the beautiful traditions and overall look of Transylvania. Also, the first person who spoke is a Roma man, a minority in the region with a very distinct culture and life, they are the ones with the male dominated culture where women are taken away from school at 12.

This documentary focused, unfortunately, on the rural areas of Transylvania which nowadays are mostly inhabited by elderly people. Transylvania has also modern towns with vibrant cultural
life and not only cultural. Disappointed.

one of the worst documentaries I have ever seen about Transylvania. And I am from there... full of misinformation.

Nice images and stuff, but, to be honest, this was poorly researched.

I had 3 or so Romanian coworkers over my working years. They are decent people. Salut Romania. (from Maryland, USA)

Sadly, however much heartwarming and charming the little film is, it's not representative as a documentary. The Hungarian minority is the biggest in the country and yet it's not mentioned but once in a faraway historical context. Would have loved to see a Hungarian village or one of the many cities featured.

Deeply disappointing. Completely ignores Hungarian horse culture. Claims that a statue of King Mattias, clearly labeled, is German. Ignorant.

Cluj Napoca was established by the Romans, Napoca , roman name, i don't understand why the propaganda with the saxons, you give false information to people. Also, BOTH Hungarians ancestors and Germans were foreign to this land, germans left their territory and came here and hungarians ancestors left Asia and invaded Europe, so, not with ancestry in the indigenous European tribes . If you want the rocks that invaders left behind, take it, do not expect to build nothing more . You praise people with an ancestry that suppresed others on their own land? I think Romanians were still too kind to this day. Maramures and it's traditions have nothing to do with yoru saxons, present FACTS!!
