The Evil Within Ending Explained!

There something odd about this final scene, the bodies in the main hall are all blooded, but it wasn't Ruvik that killed them inside STEM? Why all the blood in the real world?

Part of me wonders if after Ruvik escaped, he maintained access, albeit very limited access to some of his powers, like he could screw with people's minds without relying on STEM simply by exerting his own will. It'd be kind of cool if Ruvik does now have some power in reality and it makes me curious what his goal from hereon is. If he's sensible he'll just lay low and enjoy his freedom since nobody really knows he's even alive.

I am so glad I never sold my old 360 games. Took me little over 24h and 238 death's to complete this game on nightmare, just started a new game plus to get all the collectibles. Will but the season pass and play through them before going to evil within 2. Amazing how a game I bought in 2016 still can deliver! 24h of gameplay and two dlc that I haven't started yet!

In one of the last cutscenes when you see Kidman, isn't it Tatiana that's walks behind her in a suit? And speaking of her, what is the story behind the saferoom? Any ideas there?

The bone woman is ruviks sister.

This is all kinds of wrong. For one, when you beat the game it explains all the bosses through character model viewers. The sadist is what happens when ruviks mind combined with a murderer from the asylum forming murder personified. Two, the Creepy body lady is actually the personification of ruviks anger and guilt over his sisters death(The girl is a monstrous form of his sister, that's why she is only weak to fire because that's how she died.) And finally the "boxman" stems from ruviks anger behind people (namely the doctor) breaking into his safe to steal his research. Not only that, but ruvik didn't steal Leslie body, kidman took him out of the simulation because he was the only one to have survived being hooked up to ruviks brain in the first-place. They took him to research as made apparent by the Evil within 2 where that same company now has a working STEM machine.

How did all the people and cops in the asylum die in the real world ?

What a bad storyline, too many plotholes to keep me interested. Why doesn't the shadow organization simply smash the brain in the first place? Why would you send anyone into a world controlled by the very person/consciousness you're trying to destroy? The whole game is pointless from the start and tries to hide behind a smokescreen of the grotesque to make up for it's lack of proper character development and overall original plot.

Yeah, Ok, it is your perception of the ending as it is not vert clear. I would like to know who Julie points out when she says "and those two" which other two is she talking about? Leslie and Joseph maybe? 'cause like why would she/them want to dead bodies? imagining she'd be pointing at Jimenez and the ambulance guy for instance. Plus she knows Sebastian is alive so I assume the other two were as well.

at the end he gets an headache and an brick on the ceiling above his head changes....he is not in the real world.

The game wasnt fake from the full begining the mobius said the : the STEM in the beacon mental hospital is wire-less.You were called to the hospital and when you comming in the police car the radio glitchies.That radio glitch is the cut from the real and the unreal world.There was never any bathtub.(only at the old machine)

Well during the game they explain that Mobius has enhanced the Stem to work with a wireless signal,at the beginning of the game Seb and collegues are still in the real world, the noise they hear while they are in the car weakens them, so when they reach the hospital they have allucinations and when they watch the security cams they finally pass out, allowing the mobius staff to plug them physically to Stem. And it was also the wireless signall that caused the patients to go feral and tear each other apart, causing the call to the police.

Great piece of theory. I've read a lot of theories around the internet and this video does not include a lot of things that I have read about already, but I found "mind-blowing" the part where it is Seb's world fantasy in the end. It does make sense now when I think about it again, I was paying so much attention while playing since I wanted to finally finish the damn game.

this guy probably couldn't more wrong. Each monster represented some aspect of Ruviks!!! sinful, twisted and tortured mind. The alter ego, sadness over his sister, heresy, trauma, etc. The boxman, or the keeper was Ruviks secrets. In one of the recording, as I recall, he mentions his safe getting stolen.

I really like this theory. It's pretty close to what I thought too. There are still a few holes in it for me, but the whole game is just one giant mindfuck. I liked it alot though. wtf? all the creatuers are explained in the model viewer, and you got em all wrong. the six legged laura is ruviks sister, who died in the fire in the barn. she's practically immune to firearms but are vulnerable to fire because that's how she died. she's a manifestation of ruviks anger over her death. the sadist is a psychopath whose mind were put into the machine. the two headed monsters are schitzofrenic patients connected to the machine. the octopus thing boss was ruviks unwillingness to be seen in public. the list goes on. check the models after completing the game and stop this bullshit that will only confuse people more about this awesome game.

am I the only one who is questioning who Kidman means when she says leave this one and those two they're not going any where. was she only lying about Sebastian not going anywhere or maybe those other two?

What i don't get is that ruvik just toys with him why wouldn't he just kill everyone in his way and get leslie

Why did the organisation plug Sebastian back in to the machine at the end? And if they didn't, how did they move the whole machine back to the hospital and conveniently Sebastian wakes up just before the police bust the door down?
