I'm not a broney but when I came across this, I decided to see what the fuss was about, now I realise that a simple dispute can destroy a entire species, I'm not saying we will be replaced by ponies, but that we need to put aside our differences, and become one.

The description of the mech, it sounds like a EM-208 from Robocop.

I'm going back to an old playlist I had of some of my favorite mlp fic readings and I'm so happy this one was the first! I've never forgotten it, though my memory is a little foggy on details. I always remembered loving this take on the humans in equestria concept, and the details and flashes into history still give me chills! Such a wonderful fic. This fandom really had some beautiful, wonderful stories. I can only help the new generation calls some of the creators back.

That was beautiful. The story itself was so captivating, but your efforts really brought it to life! That last vision that Twilight had with the pilot's ghost brought a few tears to my eyes. And perhaps I'm really seeing why this theory resonates so well with so many. Equestria, for all of its flaws, is a rather ideal society. They don't have the same kinds of advanced and amazing technology that humans do, but at least they're not killing each other en mass.

This story really captures what it would be like for the next generation of "Earthlings" to discover what we left behind and shows how despite our advancements, we still fell to everything that is ugly in the soul; greed, hatred, envy, and unchecked pride. And it kinda paints an idea in my head; where humanity in the end, failed to achieve true unity. And in the end, it ripped us apart as a society and a species. Perhaps Equestria and the ponies that live there will succeed where we failed. For if they remember our mistakes, they can learn from them and not be doomed to repeat them.

This aged like a fine yet sad wine

I think the use of the soundtrack to Alice in Wonderland was perfect for the library scene.

That was cool the grim reaper at the end was awesome

Humans will be forgotten. One day we all will be just... gone. People say "fight for peace" but peace isn't fighting, its harmony and being logical. We as humans will be gone, some aliens or other spieces after us will say "what happened?" We will be forgotten but it can be changed, just help spread awareness and plant some trees, it doesn't take long but it can save us

This story reminds me of the poem of Ozymandias.

There was a sequel to this, "To be Misguided". Perhaps that could be a topic for a Month of Macabre?
