I'd throw those booms right at them the next opportunity I got, just as they intended to do to you. You reap what you sow. Even if wouldn't destroy their base entirely or got much loot out of it, I still would do so a 100 times. Because this wouldn't be about loot - but about karma and principles. How you gonna outnumber someone more than 2 to 1 and have enough explosives to raid their base sky high, not to mention roofcamp them(and everyone else, even nakeds), but wait to offline raid anyways? And then bitch about it when you got outsmarted and partially received the thing that you intended to do to them? The level of cowardness and hypocrisy is truly off the charts.
As much as it probably doesn't matter much, I'd probably still write it down on the chat, point it out how they outnumbered you 2 to 1, roofcamped, and had loads of explosives, but waited to offline-raid anyways.
